@ecouter11 @audaciously was that the question with one of the choices being about an ostrich (or other animal) adapting longer legs because they run so fast?

@ecouter11 was the phosphorous one the question that had the choices: starch, triglycerides… etc… Sorry I’m just having a hard time remembering some of them.

Results come out tomorrow. Boo Yaa!

what do you guys think the curve is going to be like? wasn’t it a relatively easy test?

I agree, it was pretty easy. So the curve will probably be harsh :(

I need to do a retake - did really badly. Are there any other books to read besides Barron’s? Man, really screwed this one up. 3 days of prep without taking an Honors Biology class is not enough. :(

just checked…got 790. I left 2 questions and got one wrong for sure; so, not a VERY harsh curve.
@calmer410 3 days is pretty less. Barron’s is a very good prep book. You might want to try out Princeton Review as well. And if you could, take help from Honors Biology students, borrow their books etc.
Also, keep doing practice tests. Building up speed is important.

I am kind of disappointed with my score. It wasn’t bad but I expected more because I had a really good feeling and studied really hard. Ironically, I scored better on the Literature one I hardly studied for…
@calmer410 I found Khan Academy really helpful as well. Their video’s are great.
@Conscience13 Congrats! that’s a great score.

Way to go, @Conscience13! Awesome score. I’m an international student, we don’t even have such classes here. Maybe I’ll just re-read everything and see where I went wrong, can’t afford to be upset. I’ll try Princeton Review, thanks.

@book05: I get what you mean, I tried really hard as well. So disappointed. Next time, maybe I should study for a month instead of three damn days. Didn’t even study for Literature - it ended up being my best subject. Khan Academy is amazing, I think I’ll just watch Sal’s Bio videos.

@calmer410 Nice to meet another international student. Well there is nothing I can do now, scores were sent. Now I have to wait. Literature was my best as well and while I took the test I was just like: ahh what am I reading here?
Don’t stress yourself. If you are not a senior, there is enough time to improve.

Yes, @book5, I just blanked out! Was so exhausted. What did you get? I have quite a few sessions left. Seeing as I have 2 months plus to prepare for the next one, the next round should be much better. Or so I hope.

@calmer410 I am an international student too! I totally understand what it is like to rely on just prep books for Subject SATs. It is pretty scary actually; never know what might turn up on the test. I did Bio only till 10th, so that was another disadvantage. I got Cliffs AP book to study from but then there was just tooooo much in it!!!Didn’t touch it, but you should probably check it out. Yes, there is extra information but it might really help boost your confidence the next time you write the test. In case any of your friends are taking bio in school, ask them if they could lend their books. Yes, Khan academy videos will be helpful too! BTW, the first time I wrote Bio in Oct I scored 670. Trust me, there is a lot of scope for improvement. So, don’t worry!

@book05 , I wrote the literature test too! scored terribly there. Got a 650 and since I had to give the names of the colleges at the time of sat registration, I couldn’t use score choice. I guess since the Lit. test was pretty hard the curve was easy on us; I expected to score much less!

@Conscience13 Thanks for the motivation. I am willing to work harder this time, just to see a major improvement. Seeing as I have WAY more time, I just hope it works well. I’ll check it out, I think my plant Biology was pretty weak. Meh, it has always been my folly. I’ll try my best to do better for the May session.

International here too! But my scores are not available yet…

Even doing IB bio, the test still was very different from what I learned. having to rely on prep books is just… We don’t know if prep books cover everything.

Good job to those who got a great score, and good luck to those retaking!

Got my score 770 - just studied a few days… didn’t feel prepared. I guessed on quite a few questions. Should I retake?

770 is EXCELLENT! why do you want to retake?!!

I’m an overachiever :P

That being said, it’s more because I’m Canadian and I have the disadvantage of being international but not exotic enough. I need financial aid and the only need blind schools are basically Ivies, some other universities and Amherst. If I were to apply to a non-need blind school, then I still need higher stats to be able to get in.

770 seems pretty good but for my personal circumstances I may need that extra bit to get accepted.

Is it worth it? I don’t want a lower score than before :P

I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. I got a 770 as well and was debating on retaking it after i took AP Bio but then I saw a 770 is the 97% percentile. 770 is a great score and by retaking you run the risk of scoring lower than your first score (which is already high).

Is that for the January one? Because mine doesn’t show percentiles D:

Ya, I coincidentally also ended up with a 770 and I’m very satisfied with my score. I wouldn’t recommend retaking it. I feel like the difference between a 770 and a 780 or even a 770 and an 800 isn’t so extreme that you should risk earning a lower score. Just study really hard for your other subject tests and try to score above 770s on those and you should be fine.
