hey, i was wondering if it was okay to buy my books online and have them send it to my dorm room address. is that fine?

I was wondering the same thing actually ^.

OK I sent email to both teacher and TA earlier today, I just hope they respond quickly to them.

To kdbar and sndebrosse,
I was on dorms during this summer and shipping books to your dorm is no problem. They will give you a mail box key, number and addresse when you move in. Just make sure you don’t mix up the your mail box number.

thanks jas0n for all the help and shoeFactory
if u want u can pm me ure advice or just post it here cuz i check it as much as possible

i got a question about txtbooks… i am a ICS major and im wondering if you guys know that ICS majors go beyond 2A & 2B? so i will know if i need to be the full txt or just the single variable. Thanks a lot!!

What are the chances of getting of the wait list??? I currently in Pos 2 for a writing class? Should i drop it and add a class that i can get.

What happened to the IEEE?

akashanksta:

OK, now to answer your question briefly. I’m planning on going into networking-related stuff. I like any field except maybe solid-state devices as long as they’re in the field of telecommunication :]. Wondering which engineer you want to be? EE is more hardcore in hardware/circuits. CpE is more on digital circuits which are based on a lot of logic. Instead of drawing circuits with resistors and stuff, you draw circuits with boxes. Google digital system images. If you’re not sure, I’d come into UCI as a CpE for now. Take EECS 12 instead of EECS 10. EECS 12 is python while 10 is C programming. EECS 12 satisfies the requirement for EE and CpE, but EECS 10 is not sufficient for CpE. other than that the first year is pretty much the same so come in and find IEEE and ask us questions. It won’t make sense unless we talk to you in person.

Jinks:

Writing classes are only 20 people. There’s a pretty high unliklihood you’ll get in.

dummyyy:

IEEE is alive. I’m the treasurer of IEEE on campus. Did you have any questions about us? I’ll give you the meeting times when they’re determined for sure if you’d like.

Do you know how enrollment windows are assigned?

For example, Winter quarter registration is Nov17-Dec15 for new continuing undergrads, new undergrads, & new graduate students. I will starting at UCI as a junior in the winter. Does priority registration go in order like senior, junior, sophomore, freshman? Or is your registration window assigned randomly?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

Enrollment windows will be given to everyone based on many factors with standing being the most influential. For example, if you have senior standing, you’ll be prioritized earlier. BTW, since when were winter transfer decisions posted? I thought you get a word back mid-october.

yeah, i wanted to join IEEE but I didnt see it at the club day today

do u guys know about chem 1LE and information about it
im a little bit worried about it cuz im taking it concurrently with chem1A and it seems far advanced…

Should i drop out of the wait list (writing class) and add a different class? I need to have more than 12 units!! I read the teachers syllabus and it said that the online wait list does not matter, the wait list for the first day of class matters.

Also if i go to the class and sign up on the teachers wait list sheet can I go to multiple Writing classes and do the same??? Can i remove my self from the web reg wait list and still go to the class and sign up on the teachers wait list???

sorry for double post …

Would the Mesa parking structure be consider a lot for residents? I have the commuter zone permit and want to know if I can park in the Mesa lot on Saturdays.

Hi, I am deciding between UCI and UCD and UCSB…
I have never been to Irvine before, but hear its beautiful…and all that…

would you say that driving is a set back? I really like the idea of a bike town… but idk
Also, I heard that parking is a problem and can get packed… are there parking garages?

Where do I get an add/drop card? For some reason everything but that is listed on the registrar’s website…

You can pick up add/drop cards in Aldrich Hall near the registrar’s window. There are these little tables with cards on it. You can pick up transcript request forms there too. Add/drop cards are small and rectangular with red ink, if you’ve never seen one before.
