I have a few questions regarding aid and disbursement.

I can access my Zot Billing Account. Does that mean I can Direct Deposit (DEFT) my aid or do I have to wait until after July 1sT?

Does the aid get disbursed to me asap or at the beginning of first qtr?

Why is CAL A FLIP & Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year uncomfirmed?

Your financial aid will go towards your tuition + housing first. You will probably have to wait

Aid will be automatically applied towards paying tuition + housing, leftover amounts will be disbursed at beginning of quarter

Do not know for Cal A, but ACG might be uncofirmed because you haven’t enrolled in any units yet, probably need to enroll in 12 at least to get the grant.

Math and something else was a past requirement. Today, you can take any two subject tests of your choice. However, for special majors like engineering, you are usually required to take Math 2 (Math 1 is outdated). I’m actually not sure if the titles Math 1 and Math 2 even exist today…

Okay so I have been chosen to verify my financial aid. UCI wants my 2009 Signed Student Tax Return (if required to file), what do I do if I never paid any taxes let alone fill out a tax return form?

There should be somewhere that says “Not needed if Student is not required to file” or something of that nature, either in the link that they give you or somewhere on the site.

Just know that you don’t have to send a STUDENT tax return if you never filed one, but your parents will need to send theirs in if they ask for it.

I finished my application for housing at 7:30 on May 3rd … Am I in trouble? The application completely slipped my mind since I did my SIR earlier during the week. I’m scared I’m not going to get housing next year!

Start looking for workstudy jobs either mid-late summer or the fall quarter.

@hahahahan, I don’t think you understand work study fully, it is just something that allows the Federal Gov’t to pay a chunk of your salary, while your employer covers the rest. Other than that, it’s just like a regular job.

hi jason
Do u know what the incoming freshmen need to do after the orientation?!?!
cusss i’m planning on going out of country after i attend the orientation so am i gonna miss anything???
ohhh and also!!! I turned in my SLR two days late is that gonna affect my enrollment??? I called the admission already and they said it SHOULD be okay. but i’m still kindda worried T_T

@ jas0n: As a prespective EE major what are things I could do that could help me get hired for interships? Extracurriculars? And can I get an intership in the summer after my freshman year?

To be honest, those kind of questions are a bit too modern for my times =P. A lot has changed since I got admitted (I am graduating now). There is usually a checklist on your MyAdmissions site? Make sure you turn in all the papers for housing, register for classes, etc. Keep an eye out over summer for what books to buy too. As for the SLR thing, it should be ok. Don’t make it a habit turning things in late though.

xxsteelxx:

Here’s a list of things you want to do in order to help you in anything EE related.
1)Join the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at UCI.
2)Join the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at UCI.
3)Join the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at UCI.
4)Talk to Derrick Lo, the incoming President of IEEE. He’s a very good friend of mine. Oh, and join the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers at UCI.

I’m not sure if this question has been asked but how much leisure time do students have at UCI? I know college is when the real workload begins but from experience, is it possible to find time to do other stuff other than studying.

[I’ve been hereing different things so if someone can clear it up that’d be great]
