Jefferson Scholarship finals weekend- logistics

I am going to the Jefferson Scholars finals weeked in March, and have been planning my travel arrangements.

I am flying into DC, but was wondering if UVA provide transport to/from the airport?
If they don’t, should i include the cost of this in my travel reimbursement reciept?

Thank you in advance!

For my weekend last year, I flew into UVA and then took the train down to Cville, and included that in my travel reimbursement. I don’t know if they offer transport from DC airport (they do from Cville airport and train station), but you should definitely reach out to them and ask! They are willing to answer any questions you have.

@chocolatepi Where are you coming from?

@mocktrialgirl Thank you very much! I will get in touch with them to find out officially

@dowzerw from the UK!

@chocolatepi LOL! Serious distancee. Transportation from DC to C’ville would be covered transportation. Too far to hitch a ride. You could catch a train-Amtrak-from Union Station to Cville or you could take a bus. There is also something called “Homeride” I believe, which provides a shuttle service. There may even be flights from DC to the C’'ville airport.

@mocktrialgirl Did you mean UVA to C’ville or DC to C’ville?

@dowzerw Flew to Reagan national and then took the train from DC to Cville. The weekend for me actually coincided with spring break so I didn’t have them reimburse me on the way back, but going back I probably would have done the same thing opposite. Not sure if the foundation can transport you from Cville to DC either way

Hey everyone! For the selection weekend are anyone’s parents going? I assume not. Also, are we given roommates, as I understand we all have rooms reserved at the Boar’s Head inn? Excited to meet you all!

@EastgoingWest nobody’s parents come! Except to maybe pick them up if they live close. And you are assigned a roommate! A lot of people become really close with their Weekend roommate actually.
