President Trump declared the awards ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and accused Mr. Noah of defamation over a joke he made that appeared to tie the president to Jeffrey Epstein.

I’ll copy over my comment from another thread:

And yet he watched. Like he knows any of these artists. I’m surprised he hasn’t commented on Bad Bunny winning Album of the Year - for an album in Spanish, the first Spanish-language album to win.

The layers of damage are really something else. Hurt people hurt people, as they say.

She for instance sent a September 2016 Daily Mail article to Epstein about how former congressman Anthony Weiner had texted a 15-year-old asking her to undress for him and engage in rape fantasies. The article had ignited another scandal for Weiner, whose political career had already nosedived upon previously being caught sexting young women while he was still married.

“Wow,” Epstein replied to Previn.

“I know,” Previn responded, before adding, “I also thought it was disgusting what the 15-year-old did to” Weiner.

“I hate women who take advantage of guys and she is definitely one of them. She knew exactly what she was doing and how vulnerable [Weiner] was and she reeled him in like fish to bait,” Previn said of the child at the center of the case. “What is her excuse for being a despicable and disgusting person who preys on the [weak]?”

She concluded the screed with: “So manipulative on her part. She should be ashamed of herself.”

So sad that these warped people just see the rich and powerful men as victims, not the powerless girls used as toys to be abused & discarded.

This is the result of grooming and it’s horrific.

Soon-Yi refers to a 15 year old GIRL as a woman and characterizes her as having equal power to Anthony Weiner.

This is concurrent with her asking Epstein to get their teenage daughter into Bard College, per the NYT. (Spoiler alert: she got into Bard.)

Mind-boggling.

Bard is not a super selective college. Would the student have gotten in anyway? Did Epstein have any influence or connection at Bard?

The President of Bard denies that there was influence. But Soon-Yi clearly believed there was as evidenced by her emails both to Epstein and to Botstein. This should be a gift link.

I have to stop here:

sent emails to Jeffrey Epstein telling the convicted sex offender

I’m guessing, if I have a known sex offender in my life outside of my kids, I’m likely not regularly interfacing with them.

But she, herself, some would argue was a victim although clearly she wouldn’t.

Doesn’t open for me but for some reason others can see NYT and I can’t. Can you put in a key pareagraph?

I see Drew is where she attended…so what happened with Bard?

Soon-Yi email to Epstein, January 2017:

“I can’t thank you enough for getting Bechet into Bard. I couldn’t be effusive enough because I was down in the kitchen having dinner with Manzie. I didn’t want her to hear. I think it’s best that Bechet struggles and doesn’t know ahead of time that she got in so that when she gets into Bard she will have sweated it out a bit and will really want to go. Thank you for coming through for us. I can’t tell you how much this means to me. Woody said when Bechet sets fire to the school they’ll have you to thank.”

And

In early November [2016], Mr. Epstein emailed Dr. Botstein, saying that Bechet Allen was considering Bard and asking that he coordinate a trip with Ms. Previn. The same day, Ms. Previn wrote to the president: “Thank you so much for your offer to help our daughter, Bechet Allen, get into Bard College. I will take you up on the offer.;)”

Dr. Botstein said that he would be “delighted to help” and scheduled a visit.

Two months later, Ms. Allen emailed Dr. Botstein to say Bard was her first choice, an email that Ms. Previn forwarded to Mr. Epstein. Dr. Botstein said he would pass along her sentiment to the admissions committee.

The next day, shortly after Mr. Epstein instructed the couple to call Dr. Botstein, the couple sent their effusive thank-you note to Mr. Epstein.

Wow - all these people paid money to Rick Singer. Had they just gone to Jeffrey Epstein, it could have been free.

The width/breadth of this guy’s rolodex is unreal/unbelievable. And I’m sure more and more names/experiences are still to come.

And this is all happening after he’s been convicted and known to be a slug.

All these people more than happy to look the other way, or worse, make excuses for him.

Much worse—they blamed the CHILD VICTIMS! So disgusting!

I’m seeing - I’m just amazed at the overall breadth of people - like EVERYONE from pols to bus people to hollywood. And even college presidents.

You wonder what dirt he had on each of them.

I agree, though in place of sad I’d use something more like demented, or perhaps something that would get bleeped on network TV.

His tentacles are all over science and technology, too. (Bach is a very highly regarded AI guy)

Nothing is free in this world - except your integrity.

Bach described the payments as “unconditional” and said that Epstein never influenced his research, even though Bach did meet with scientists and policymakers Epstein knew. Bach wrote, “I had strong differences with his value system, and ending this dependence was always a priority.”

He didn’t need dirt.

He had money and a network.

That plus psychopathy will get you pretty far in our world.

Free, if you don’t count the cost of selling your soul.

I have so many thoughts about all this. I hesitate to write it out here as I don’t want to be misconstrued, but I think people named in the files have different levels of culpability. Not everyone mentioned, IMO, is the same. I think most of the people fall into the category of looking the other way to gain status, access and power. Gross. But Prince Andrew is a whole other story.

Art world:

In a 2009 email, Epstein discusses an exhibition he wants to support. “Roman Polanski’s [attorneys] are coming to see me,” he writes. “I might want to fund an exhibition entitled statutory. Girls and boys ages 14 – 25, where they look nothing like their true ages. Juvenile mug shots, photo shop, make up. Some people go to prison because they can’t tell the true age. Controversial. Fun. Maybe it should be a web page, with hits, tallied.”

“You are incredible,” replies Ross. “This would be a very owerful [sic] and freaky book. Do you know that total porno commercial kiddie picture of Brooke Shields that Richard Prince appropriated for an exhibition in the early 1980s?” Prince’s photo Spiritual America (1983) appropriated a 1976 photo of a 10-year-old, naked Shields by commercial photographer Gary Gross. “Yes,” Epstein responds, “they closed it off in the London show.”
