James did well last night finding all the daily doubles.
Can’t wait for tonight! We will be out while the show is airing. I warned DH that I would be watching the tape the second we get home, because I don’t want to accidentally get any spoilers!

I thought it was funny that Alex pointed out that even if James wins the tournament, he will be taking a “pay cut,” because $250,000 for four games is less than his average winnings per game during the regular season.

I will be surprised if I can answer even one question in the GOAT games. They are so hard in the ToC I can’t imagine how hard they will be with these 3.
All the way back on post #47 I predicted this GOAT contest would happen:
“You can be pretty sure that even as we speak the Jeopardy producers are busy dreaming up some sort of tournament or special match that will result in James playing against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter…”
I’m guessing that either Brad Rutter or James will win the GOAT. They both play at such a high level that it will really come down to which one has a slightly off day with the button. Ken Jennings has an outside chance IMO, but he is not quite the overwhelming crusher that the other two can often be.
I’d bet on James. He answers faster than I can process most of the questions.

James is an incredibly talented player, but as Emma Boettcher has repeatedly shown, it’s possible for other top champions to keep up with him and to even beat him. He won’t be a sure thing for the win.
Emma beat James in 2 of their 3 games.
