Jeopardy and James Holzhauer, anyone watching?

Thanks!

Next week they will be showing old episodes from the Celebrity Jeopardy tournaments. Or as Robin Roberts referred to it as Remedial Jeopardy.

Well let’s be honest - she’s right. Which reminds me. I need to watch the SNL sketches this weekend.

I am loving these throwback shows. They didn’t have the automatic risers for the contestants which adjusts their heights. Frank Spangenberg towered over some of his competitors.

Anyone know how I can watch some of the Art Fleming episodes?

Frank Spangenberg is 6’6".

The celebrity Jeopary games had to be stopped because they couldn’t dumb down the questions any further. LOL

Ken, James and Brad are supposedly in talks to do a US revival of The Chase. James was a contestant on the old version.

In these old versions Alex sometimes asked questions during the contestant chat time that would never fly today. On one of them, he remarked on a contestant’s last name, saying, “That’s a very unusual name. What nationality is it?”

Yes, @brantly - and Alex made a big fuss that the MALE contestant was a NURSE while the FEMALE contestant was a CARPENTER!

That was 36 years ago. Things have changed.

^Yeah, that was about the time I accompanied my dad to a site visit and another engineer asked me, “Are you Daddy’s little helper?” I replied, “Well, I’m working on my master’s degree in structural engineering, so I guess so…” Shut him up real fast.

I’ve noticed similar comments on March Game '74 such as inappropriate questions or innuendos that would never fly today.

Regis Philbin was one of the celebrity contestants tonight. Coincidence or did they rearrange the sequence?

Read that they picked the 5 episodes for this week before Regis died. They had picked it though in part to recognize his support of the show over the years. When Regis died they turned it into a memoriam.

Jeopardy will be back with new episodes on September 14th. Ken Jennings joins the show as a consulting producer.

@saillakeerie I read the comments on that article. There are a lot of mean, bitter people in this world.

Which is why I never read comments. ?

I pretty much never read the comment sections online for anything for that very reason. Though our newspaper has an online section for each of the various suburbs in the area and you can find some comic relief in the postings there (pretty much all on local politics which is about as ugly as it gets). But then you realize the posters are very serious and it makes you feel sad for them.

Oh my goodness, those are some tame comments for newspaper comments, I have to say. Of course they are horrible, but I have read much much worse in local paper comments. I don’t even know why they exist, I can’t think of any good purpose for them

New episode tonight reminder!
