Thanxx for the info.
What do I need to include in the cover letter? Like my name, CommonApp ID?
Do I need to include the incomplete version along with the complete version as well? Or just only the updated version with the explanation for the need of correction?
And it does not need to be in a form of a formal letter right?

Thanks, much appreciated.

S applied listing AP Scholar as one of his honors. Turns out College Board just revised his standing (their error) to AP Scholar with Honors. Should he update his app or does it not matter?

Yes you should include an explanation of why you did not meet the deadline for all of your application requirements.

Name, birth date, and high school. Yes it should be a formal letter and it only needs to contain the corrected letter.

Up to the student whether they want to update their application with new honors and awards. I will say the Admissions Committee cares more about a students AP record (classes taken, exam scores) then achievements awarded by the College Board.

I’m wondering how important is SAT Reasoning score to JHU during admission process?
Some ppl told me JHU cares A LOT about SAT Reasoning score..

I was just wondering the stats for accepted students to the BME program and also would really appreciate any info on admissions in general (is it by location, solely merit, etc.). Thank You

They matter. They matter as much as all the other parts of one’s application matter. The admissions review process for Johns Hopkins is holistic and comprehensive, meaning all application factors are weighted equally. We do not rank the various application metrics in order of importance as every application is reviewed based on the individual merits of the student. The only ā€œpeopleā€ you should listen to about what Hopkins ā€œcaresā€ about in the admissions process, is the Johns Hopkins Admissions staff and we never state that test scores have any more importance than everything else in the application.

We do not provide separate statistics on acceptance rates to specific majors, BME major include. Read this for further information:

On JHU website, it is stated that the middle 50% of SAT scores ranged from 2020-2300.
Has any students been admitted to JHU with SAT scores of 1800 or 1900?

Yes. A middle 50% range is just that … it means 25% of admitted students are below that range and 25% are above that range.

If an applicant gets accepted, is it required to send official final IB scores to the college? Or is it optional if the student wants to earn extra credits?

Admitted applicants who choose to enroll at Johns Hopkins University are required to submit a final academic report along with any final academic results from their high school. In most cases the final report is accompanied by a final high school transcript. However, there are schools who use IB scores to finalize a student’s high school record, and in such cases we would require official IB records.

Hi Admissions Daniel! I was wondering if you had any idea when e-mails would be sent out for RD decision applicants? Also, do all students receive an e-mail at a specific time or throughout the day (if that’s the case I may have a panic attack and be distracted all day)? Thanks!

The Admissions Office has not yet set a specific date for the release of Regular Decision notifications and we will not set a date until the middle of March at the earliest. You can safely assume it will be one of the last days in March, and we release all the decisions at the same time. When a date is announced it will be posted to the Hopkins Insider blog: [Hopkins Insider](http://blogs.hopkins-interactive.com/). You can also review previous ā€œdecision releaseā€ entries to learn how the process works.

Hi again! I was just wondering if Hopkins sends out likely letters and if you do when they are sent out. Thanks!

For midyear reports, the deadline on the website was February 15th. Unfortunately, a guidance counselor said that transcripts weren’t ready and will probably not make the February 15th deadline. Should my guidance counselor upload to the CommonApp 9 weeks grades for now(that’s what another guidance counselor did but a third is planning to wait until the 15th to see if the transcripts are ready) or wait until the mid year transcript is ready? Thanks for your time!

@lexieam

We will not be sending likely letters this year.

@neorobie

If an applicant’s school is unable to submit the mid-year report and transcript by the February 15 deadline, we will still accept and process late reports. We request that the student’s school counselor submit the report and transcript as soon as it is available. If it will be sent after February 15, then we request your counselor mail the forms along with a short note regarding the delay. Do note that the mid-year report must be accompanied by a student’s transcript of 12th grade courses and current grades. If a student would like this information submitted quicker, then they can request that the mid-year report and transcript be faxed by their school counselor to 410-516-6025, when available. We will only accepted faxed materials from a school counselor for it to be considered official.

For the mid-year report my high school sends what is basically a 1st semester report card. They do not send a 7 semester transcript. Is that sufficient?

Yes, a 1st semester senior year report card that includes one’s senior year courses and grades will work for a mid-year report submission.

I’m curious. How poorly does a freshman applicant have to do academically (GPA-wise, grades, etc.) in the final transcript report to be rescinded an offer of admission from Hopkins?

In response to your question, read what I have previously posted here: [Final Transcript Review](http://www.hopkins-interactive.com/forums/ask-admissions/final-transcript-review/)

I’m just wondering does JHU send email confirming whether an applicant’s application is complete? If yes, when?
