Job placements Purdue

If I take up Aerospace Engineering from Purdue. How are the job placements or campus selections for undergrads.
How is it compared to the competitive Indian colleges such as IIT and NIT?

bump!

reply please!!

Purdue’s Aerospace Engineering is more famous in terms of graduate program. You can certainly ask for their job placement rate from their admissions office. IIT & NIT are private schools. Their undergraduate education supposes to be better than a state university in US.

Thanks for the reply…IIT and NIT are government schools. NIT does not offer aerospace engineering unfortunately.

IIT is certainly not state university… it is one of best private engineering schools in Midwest. Also, aerospace engineering is for master’s program preparation. If you want to find a job after undergraduate education, ME is more useful for international students because there are so many job restrictions in AEROSPACE field towards international students…

I think he meant the IITs in India, which are public universities. That being said, the reputation of schools in the United States as far as Aerospace Engineering rests mostly on their research and graduate programs and Purdue is certainly well regarded. The IIT in Chicago, my own university (I will call it Illinois Tech), is smaller but has some strong areas in the AE field. The Indian Universities are less about research an more about undergraduate and professional education and they both selective and well-regarded.

The OP’s original posting was about opportunities for employment at the undergraduate level and I would say that employment is good for students with any ABET-accredited AE degree in the United States. Illinois Tech and Purdue both have such degrees. Access to such jobs in the United States is best with a degree from a U.S. university, of course even though the education is likely just as good at the IITs or NIT.

Finally, I also agree with @19850114 that a Mechanical Engineering degree offers more opportunities for employment, including the Aerospace field.
