So since I live in Minnesota and the Twins are the hometown team it is natural that extraordinary accomplishments such as Joe Mauer’s batting this year would be all over the news and such, but I am wondering for those of you in big markets such as NY or LA, do you even hear about what he has done this year? He is hitting .407 with 14 home runs in 46 games played this year (he was out for the beginning of april). We are almost at the all-star break and he is still over .400. ESPN did a thing where they simulated the rest of the season like 1000 times and said he has a 32% chance of hitting .400. Do you big market folks even hear about this?

This is more of a question of “do you follow baseball or not?” ESPN is everywhere so anyone that watches Sportscenter has probably heard of Joe Mauer.

YAY! Twins are super bomb… But no one cares haha, except us

I remember when I was in 5th (or 6th or 7th?) grade, this guy in my fantasy baseball league was named after Joe Mauer. At the time it seemed absurd (especially with Prior’s success), but I thought differently after having Mauer on my team in MVP Baseball 2005. He hit a HR as a righty like 90% of the time, literally. I loved him.

It’ll be interesting to see how his career progresses. IDK that I would want someone to surpass Piazza, though.

Yeah, I see about it on Sportscenter. But I’m in the Philly market and I don’t hear about it on like, NBC10. That’s normal though. They only do Philly teams or if somebody does something amazing. So if he were to continue at this pace, then they would show it.

But believe me, I am well aware of how well he is doing. He is on my fantasy team.
