The progressive tax system stems from a spiritual and scientific tenet of unity between all life. It’s forcing through government a system that, in a more enlightened society, would be voluntary. People would be forced by law through a low flat tax, but those who could afford more would happily pay more.

Why? Because people would understand that their own well being is tied to the well being of all other life (be it ecosystems or the impoverished because all life fundamentally exists as a unified whole), and that ultimately it makes no sense for the right arm to compete with the left leg for blood. Those who can afford to will voluntarily tax themselves so that none live in involuntary poverty, knowing that the more they give to worthy purposes, the more money they will ultimately receive. Rather than feeling disdain for those who choose not to fend for themselves, people will feel sorrow and respect that this is the journey they’ve chosen for this life.

That’s not to say such a society would create a massive welfare state. It’s quite immoral and unjust to strip people of the ability to fend for themselves, which is what the liberals did in the 60s-70s and backed away from under Clinton and now Obama.

This is all provided that the government to which they are volunteering those taxes functions in a prudent way, which it doesn’t today and is why so many are rightfully skeptical of giving their money to it.

That’s McCain’s point during the last debate, Obama proposes throwing more money at the education problem, but we’re already one of the highest spenders per capita, if not the highest. Clearly, money isn’t the problem, the problem is how it’s being spent.

No surprise, another sign of capitulation by Obama (drilling, FISA, public financing, guns, free trade rhetoric).

Obama Alters Tax Plan to Rebut McCain

Facing criticism from John McCain that his tax plan constitutes “welfare,” Barack Obama recently added a work requirement to one of his proposals.

“They started saying this was welfare,” said Obama adviser Austan Goolsbee. “So, just so they would absolutely not be able to say that, we decided that for the last two percent we’ll simply add a work requirement.”

Watching Joe, an unlicensed “plumber” who owes back taxes, talk about Obama’s “socialist” policies while not realizing that he would actually benefit from Obama’s tax plan reminds me of one of the exchanges between Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles:

“You’ve got to remember,” says the Waco Kid (Gene Wilder) to Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little), in commenting upon the dim-witted racist townspeople that won’t accept Bart because he’s black, “that these are just simple farmers; these are people of the land, the common clay of the new West. You know, morons.”
.

“Still want to know. Anyone? pug, use your google skills”

yup, you would support obama. instead of going out and getting it yourself, you would rather have somebody do the work for you and give it to you.

lol, i’m mostly just kidding. i do support mccain, but i’m not somebody that thinks obama would be a horrible president… but i do think mccain would be better (or at least, on the issues that are most important to me, i think he will do a better job).

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say bud.
Anyway, the crazy Obama donor Helen Jones-Kelley now admits she dug up more dirt on Joe than she first said.
