Joy Behar drives me nuts!

I enjoy the View and their round table, but it is almost becoming intolerable to me now because of her. Her snide comments and her facial expressions is so off putting.

I understand she is a big time D, but it has become apparent her distaste for anything or anyone who doesn’t tow her line.

Anybody else feel she is hurting the show and becoming the next Rosie?

Loved Rosie, love Joy. She reminds me of some of the Moms of friends of mine growing up, who I miss a lot.

She makes me laugh!

Love Joy as well. Although I didn’t agree with her walking out on Bill O’Reilly. She should have stayed and called him out. I enjoy the dynamic between Joy and Elizabeth.

I like Joy. It is Elizabeth who can irritate me the most.

Sherri on the other hand is the one who drives me crazy with some of her beliefs!

I can see where Joy would irritate those who do not share her political views, but I don’t think you can equate her to Rosie. Joy always infuses her remarks with humor, doesn’t get overly emotional and knows when to stop arguing. I think she is aware of what makes for good TV (and ratings)–a bit of controversy. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that she’s being encouraged (by producer, etc) to stir the political pot on The View. I usually enjoy her.

Love Joy. Can’t stand the way Barbara is so condescending to Elizabeth.

Usually Joy is ok for me but today she was really annoying. Barbara was trying to talk today and Joy and Sherri kept talking over her and interrupting her. Hey guys, try to give Barbara a chance too!

Barbara was trying to say something about Sarah Palin and Joy had to make some snide remark when Barbara had interviewed Sarah Palin and was just conveying what she said about her D. I have no love lost for Ms. Palin either but she’s a mom just like me and proud of her D, just like I am. It has nothing to do with political views.

While they were debating evolution, Whoopi asked Sheri, “is the world round or is it flat?” Sherri said “I don’t know.” One of the other hosts asked Sherri, "If your son asked you “Mom, is the earth flat or is the earth round, how would you respond?” Sherri said, “I’d say, okay honey, we’re going to the library.”

I removed the link where I found her quote, but it’s popcrunch (the site looks a little iffy, that’s why I removed the link). You can also find the video of the conversation on youtube.

WTH?!

re post 9: What a terrific answer! Help to teach the kid how to think and learn for himself rather than just telling him an answer.

Let’s all remember that though she’s on a talk show she’s still an entertainer. Anyone may or may not like the views she espouses on tv. They may or not be her real views. Hasslebeck is young and very pretty. Does anyone think it was random chance she became the conservative voice? She was selected as an entertainer too, to spar with the more “mature” women.
Some entertainers have a fantastic figure and can belt out a song. Others have multiple tatts with hot girls fawning all over them. Some entertainers wear size 22 shoes and a big red nose.
If Joy was bland bland bland she wouldn’t get attention to herself or her show; and would risk success as an entertainer. Some like her brand others don’t; just don’t take her too seriously. I’m not one who puts much stock in political advice given out by a comedienne.
If Joy feels so strongly about re-distribution of wealth as a social justice, can we assume she only keeps enough of her salary to survive- giving away all the rest to the poor?

I don’t watch that show , but I don’t care for her from interviews I have seen…she is on my switch channel list if her face appears

Joy used to have a radio show on WABC out of NY. I thought it was great. I never watch the View so I have no idea how she is now.

What Ely said (#6).

I share most of Joy’s political views but find her increasingly irritating…don’t go out of my way to watch anymore because of her. I can’t recall a single time she deigned to acknowledge the merit of even a single point of view that wasn’t hers.

I watch the view but also find Joy extremely annoying. she is allowed her opinions, but she is childish/adolescent in her facial expressions, and the things she says. She makes her distaste very apparent.

Went to see the View in New York in 2002. I came away with a deep respect for Barbara Walters. First of all, in person, she is very petite and seems a little fragile. When the show would break for commercials, the other women would stand up, go offstage, talk to themselves, etc. Barbara came out towards the audience and thanked us for coming to the show. She just seemed like the perfect hostess.

I like Joy, but a little goes a long way.

Joy seems joyless…coming across as a person who finds life as too much of a challenge.

Her politics are what they are, but her persona is just sad.

worknprogress,
I went to see Regis and KathiLee 20 yrs ago and I got the same feel for Regis as you did Barbara. KL happened to be pregnant at the time, as I was and she acted like such a diva and inconvenienced by the audiences’ presence…the ones who stood outside the ABC Studios in the wee morning hours
She laid on the set sofa during the commercial breaks and he came around speaking the the audience

I like Joy. Remember it is an entertainment show. Many of her jokes and contraversial statements are known by the cohosts prior to airing. Joy’s job is deliver jokes and spark debate which provides for an interesting show.

I don’t always agree with everything Joy says, but I like her. Sherri is just not smart enough to be taken seriously. I find her very annoying. I can’t stand Elizabeth. She interrupts everybody, and is so close minded that I find her irritating. If one of them leaves, I hope it’s Elizabeth.
