Joy Behar drives me nuts!

lolo, she’s on there right now.

lololu it’s a good thing you don’t watch GMA, Elizabeth popped up this a.m.

What is amazing to me, she is probably the most successful reality star ever. I hope she says nightly prayers thanking Survivor the good fortune she has been able to parlay out of eating bugs for weeks on an island.

I think everyone agrees Whoopi is the draw for that show.

I don’t even have a clue who Sherri is! Where’d she come from? What’s her background?
I think people liked Star, but when she was dishonest about her weight loss, that was a turn-off to many.

I have already answered your question(post 35) in my post 34, youdon’tsay.
If the logic is correct that women should be the hosts because the majority of viewers are women, then that same logic would say that since the majority of viewers are caucasian, then the hosts should be caucasian. Is that the reasoning you want to use, youdon’tsay?
OR, If a person calls for hiring a Hispanic because they are under-represented compared to U.S. population, would they call for firing a current African-American host because that group is overrepresented compared to U.S. population? Is that the reasoning we should use?
IF a person believes the make up of the panel should represent the make up of the U.S., latest census indicates our country is 75.9% white, 16% hispanic/latino, 12.9% Americans of African ancestry, just under 5% Asian, and a small % of “other”, and almost dead-on with a 50-50 mix of M and F. Should we use that as the determining factor?
I’m not saying I agree or disagree with that logic; only “holding it up to the light” to be examined.
My personal belief is that each host’s ancestry is only a small factor in the selection. I also believe that is how it should be. IMO no race should automatically get hiring preference over another.

S Sheppard, like Whoopi, and Joy B. is best known for comedy. She has been a stand-up comedian for yrs, was briefly in the comedy show “Cleghorne!” and is now the host of the current version of “The Newlywed Game”.
Perhaps the % of comedians is overrepresented!

Dick Cavett? Ugh, Kitty you’re showing your age. I watched DC as a whippersnapper [early teen-age years] because he was interesting, funny and had guests like Doctor J and Pistol Pete Maravich. But in the 1990s Cavett became sort of annoying with his ocassional ‘sermons on the mount’ from New York. In his defense, his latest “revival” in the popular media, including the recent CBS interview, has re-ignited the best characteristics of the old DC. Still can’t believe he’s from Nebraska. LOL.

yh, you are taking this WAAAY too seriously, lol.

She is disgusting…hopefully her face will freeze one day with her condescending look

Wow…it’s just a fluffy talk show, not the supreme court. Are the ethnic origins of the hosts really significant? Couldn’t they try just having smart, witty, entertaining people and not care where their ancestors came from?

And why is it politically offensive to mention that it’s geared towards people who don’t work during the day? They wouldn’t have lasted as long without catering the their audience.

geeps…lol at post #48.

Let me remind you of what you actually said:

Apparently “liberals” don’t have morals.

Apparently “liberals” are also “unemployed.” Are we to read “lazy bums” as the subtext? It would appear so. Heaven forbid that people at home at that hour could be working an evening or night shift, self-employed and able to set their own hours, students, retired, or SAHMs, just to name a few possibilities.

Or that some might record the show, and watch it at a later time…

YH - that is a great idea for a new thread “TV Shows that you record but were too embarassed to admit it!”

(sorry, just trying to insert a little humor…this thread was starting to feel like the set of The View;) )

I think this is the result of getting rid of the politics cafe! ;)
