Hey guys, what position is considered higher, and more impressive to colleges or other military schools?

Regimental Deputy Commander

or

Battalion Commander.

Thanks.

Battalion commander is the highest we had over at our unit…

Battalion would be because I do know that a Regiment goes into a Battalion. What schools you applying to? VMI? Citadel?

No no, you guys are misinformed.

A regiment = a division, which is commanded by a colonel (3 diamonds)

Regimental commander = colonel (commander’s position)

regimental deputy commander = LTC (2 diamonds) (not really a leadership position, but it is higher on the chain of command than battalion commander)

Battalion Commander = LTC (2 diamonds) (Commander’s position)

They both have their ups and downs I guess… I want to know what looks better for colleges for say…

well I can’t say I’m misinformed, we’ve never had a regimental anything at our unit.

Anyway it’s probably what you’ve achieved with each position that counts the most.

Good luck!

You didn’t have a regiment, because your jrotc program was small. Regiment is the largest.
