July 12, Amazon Prime Day

I promised myself I wouldn’t get any more kitchen items until I redo my kitchen. I’ve broken that promise before… but I didn’t do it this time because I’m secretly afraid of pressure cookers. 8-|

They’re a lot safer than in our mothers’ or grandmothers’ generations. It’s something about the way the valve is now designed.

We didn’t have our regular mail guy today. There was a sub in. I wonder if he purposely took today off (and perhaps the next day or two) because he didn’t want to deal with Prime orders.

Got the KT tape today. Even after watching the youtube videos, I have zero idea what to do with it. :frowning:

@romanigypsyeyes My D’s chiropractor used to put k-tape on her before volleyball tournaments. It was helpful…she thinks (who knows for sure? the chiropractor visits helped her a TON so it’s hard to say).

I switched from KT tape to Rocktape. I used it to tape the knee (the one that gave me trouble in the past) for a few days prior a race so the knee would stay trouble-free. Good stuff.

My mother has now taken over the tape. She has knee issues, too. We’ll see if she can understand it lol.

Taping the knees is easy. There are great step by step illustrated instructions. I think some videos can make the process look more complicated than it really is.

Did anyone else noticed deals galore at other retailers yesterday? I did, and so did these folks:

I got some goodies at Saks and Bergdorf at Macy’s prices. Thank you, Amazon.

And this:

By noon Seattle time, I was still on the fence about the Pot. So I guess they sold way more!

Shoot, I don’t know how I missed the discussion about the instant pots. I should have bought two, one for me and one for D. That’s what I get for missing a couple of pages in the Cafe!

I am disappointed that the size information wasn’t clear to me for the 30% off Panache items I purchased which arrived today. I assumed the size choices were USA sizes. However they were Manufacturer sizes, which are sometimes the same as USA but sometimes different.

AND, the Amazon.com representative looked into it and I cannot exchange them for the right size and still get the 30% off - I’d have to pay full price.

He’s going to put in an enhancement request to the programmers to make it clear that the sizes are Manufacturer sizes and not necessarily USA sizes.

Wow @Madison85! Who would expect that the sizing is “manufacturer sizes,” whatever they are? I sure would expect sizing to be US sizing if nothing is stated to the contrary! I dislike buying clothing online because it’s so hard to predict how things will fit. I will buy if I can return at local stores and not have to deal with postage for returns.

If I know the brand, I go with my usual size. It is really irritating when the website decides to convert the manufacturer’s sizes into some random scale. Gimme my Italian 42, just state the manufacturer’s size next to that randomly assigned US size, whatever that is. I have seen that size translated into US 4, 6, and 8. Go figure!

That’s very nasty of Amazon not to honor the discounted price for exchanges. Did they point you to the relevant portion of the agreement you clicked through when you signed up for Prime that says sale items will only be exchanged at current price? I wonder where in their rules that is buried…

Before I purchase a new brand, I always look at the reviews. When I was looking at Panache bras for D, I saw that they are from the UK, so I made sure to order the size I needed. But Amazon should make it very clear about the sizing, and what a shame you can’t get an exchange at the discounted price! That said, D loves her Panache bras-they are the best brand for her and her small band size/large cup size and that are pretty at the same time.

I was so excited to buy several for my kids at 30% off. For one kid, the Manufacturer size is the same as the US size, but for my other kid, the Manufacturer size is larger than the same number/letter US size.

:-w

Preach on the shoe sizing. Italy and France shoe sizes are not the same.

Tell me the country of origin and the actual size. Do not try to convert it.

Some Amazon how tos:

(Some of this might be outdated info, like the mentioning of MyHabit).

Nope, he didn’t point me to the policy on no exchanges for a different size at the non-sale price.

@bunsenburner

Argh. I can’t find a definitive answer in their vast mess of policies. I would call them again and ask for an explanation why they are denying your request.

I see how some folks might abuse the sales. Buy the last one available to secure the sale price, then wait for more stock to show up, and call and whine that the ordered size did not fit. If the item does not get replenished, then return.

I wonder if it was a third party vendor that uses Amazon as a storefront and if this ridiculous exchange policy is theirs.

It seemed like it was coming from Amazon itself, (and not a third party vendor) but I’m a relative newbie to Amazon.
