June 2008- Math Level 2

do u guys remember #48? it was a roman numeral question and it was like “which of these are true?”

I. 2sin^2 + cos^2=2
etc…

choise a) was none of the above

which was what i put down, but i was rushing at that point

anyone rmemeber?

it was: II and III

u sure?

i plugged values into my calculator and i got none of the above

the last 2 works for 0 and 180 but itd be none if it said somthing like its true for all values of x?

i was rushing at this point so i really dont remember the exact wording.

It was II and III only, see the list of every problem and their answers earlier in the thread. (not in order)

for the question that was like (x-1)(x-2)/(x-2), why is it discontinuous at 2? don’t the (x-2)s cancel out? i graphed it on my calc and it was continuous

and for the trough question, does anyone know what LETTER the answer was? was is A?

and what raw score = 700? what raw score = 750?

The trough question was either C or D (18 sin theta), definitely not A.

Raw Score of 35/50 is about a 700.
40 is about a 750.

ooh! Thanks agentunderfire, I am hoping for around 700.

no, even if they cancel out, it would still be undefined at x=2 because if u plug in x=2 u will get 0/0 which is undefined.

and lopo, it didn’t ask for all numbers, it asked for ANY possible number

what would 9 omit 6 wrong be?

^agentunderfire wouldnt a 40 raw be more like a 770-780?

grade inflati0n, the question was (x-1)(x-2)/(x-2)

plugging in x=2 would make it (2-1)/1 = 1

so wouldn’t it work?

oh **** wow im an idiot

There a place to see a compiled list of all the answers? If so please give me the link.

^^^ go to page 24 of this thread.
so is the generally agreed curve 44 raw = 800?

i think the curve will be lower than 44. the test was much harder than the practice IMO. i think 43 but i really don’t know.

yeah according to a poll taken at CC it was about medium so expect a 43/44=800 type of curve.

Dude, CC people are way smarter than the average test taker.

Did you see the “where are you applying to college” thread?

Almost everyone is applying to places like HYPSM.

This test was way harder than the practice one, so the curve had better be 43-42.

out of how many questions?

i always thought there were 50 questions…
