June 2009 - Mathematics Level 2

d12345–Well, sort of…im not chinese tho…but to not get of topic what does every one think they got on this SAT II

hahahahaha that was blatantly racist lmao

i was getting raw scores of 42+ on the barrons ones, so i HOPE i got an 800.

THat was racist…you’re a cumbag

OH WELL, IT HAPPENS ALL DA TIME.

How did you get a 42+ on the Barrons?! I heard it was ridiculously hard, although i neva took their tests. Some of the Precalc teachers can’t even solve some of those problems in that book.
Congrats! I need an 800, even though i did no rigorous preparation. I took like 4 tests and that was it, with minimal review.

Barron’s is hard, but if you had a pre-calc class and remembered it, then it’s not horrible. Just finishing problems of that difficulty within an hour seems to be the issue. As far as content it’s all stuff we learn as juniors or earlier.

ok, srsly, i don’t even think my calculator has a handy dandy expreg button… i have a TI-89 Titanium… plus, there was a bunch of stuff I hadn’t seen since freshman yr, but hopefully I did ok… is it still undecided as to whether or not it’s 21 or 24… my calculator still has the 400 as the initial and the 850 as the amount after 5 weeks, so I’m sure that those values are right…

yea… im in calc ab this year and ive never seen box plots or the ExpReg button in my life haha… oh well

^^^ same here!! plus, my AlgII teacher barely taught lol, so I was screwed… yet I was actually surprised at how easy it seemed at first, compared to the blue book’s

Have there been curve predictions yet?

Nope, no predictions but ill start…i think it’ll be 44 for the cutoff score of an 800, may be 43…has there been curves more generous than that?

im PRAYING that 42/50 is the curve for the 800. is that possible anyone? tell me now so im not surprised later. :)

Don’t count on it. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Are your predictions with or without penalties?

Very True.

Honestly I expect 45 to be an 800 on this exam.

I doubt 45 is the cutoff…im going for 44 at the most, or 43 at the least…and these are with penalties.

How did you guys enter the regression into your calculator? I made two lists {5, 850} and {10, 1250} and then evaluated those lists - but now when I do it I get a = 9.xxxxxxx
Which it can’t.

L1 - weeks
L2 - sold
(there are three data points)
ExpReg - by default does regression on L1 and L2. Plug in values in output expression.

Based on past exams, the curve will be 44 or 43.

noooooooooooooooooooooo 6-7+ wrong no omits. NOOOOOOOOOO whats the highest I can get with that? if its < 800 im screwed

Why do you need an 800? And anyway, I definitely would not try to outguess the curve, because you never know for sure. Stop stressing.

Yikes! All you lucky Americans with graphing calcs for exp. reg. I had to use my poor fx-82 :frowning: I just ruled out the last two choices and randomly guessed 28. Fail! An the box-plot…I didn’t read the question properly. Ticked off 50% blindly :(
