urgent is what i put

definitely urgent, others made no sense

What score would I get if i got about 6, 7, or 8 wrong for CR?

i think “reflective” would’ve worked for tone?

I got 8 wrong and omitted none on the January test and got a 690 – so around there.

if its 6, maybe 730/720
cause ive gotten 5 wrong on jan. test which gave me a 740

eg, you should get about a 680 - 720.

Guys, here was my rationale for choosing scientifically inclined over philosophically oriented. Firstly, even though the passage mentions some of Altair’s philosophical beliefs, Altair always typifies and self describes them in scientific terms. He doesn’t refer to fate as some philosophical belief but rather as an extension of one’s “genetic predisposition” and he uses a gene map to validate this claim. In addition, the question isn’t asking about Altair’s absolute qualities but a normative comparison of Altair and the narrator’s qualities. Considering the fact that Altair expresses even his philosophical beliefs in terms of scientific principles and that the narrator doesn’t show any ostensible scientific bent, it’s quite obvious that Altair is more “scientifically inclined” than the narrator. Claiming that Altair is more philosophically oriented is a bit presumptuous, in my opinion.

I agree with iridethewave, Altair was more “scientifically inclined”. If he was more philosophically oriented in his views he would have thought differently about the nature of the narrator’s caravan to her life. Although the narrator is sort of ambiguous as to what she was taking all the blame for (at the last paragraph)… that bit im confused about.

"Wat was the answer to the question for the university commercialization: Wat was the tone of the author at the beginning of this passgage… " …under way… "

choices were : Urgent, jocular…etc "

does anyone remember all the choices?

about the ingenious one… the creativity of people changing the language was ingenious…

what about more stuff on the rocks… was their some question like what is the focus of this passage… scientific process maybe? or something like that

The answer is urgent. The author gives a statement that implies much needed action; the passage also discuses the negative effects of commercialization in universities which is a prominent problem that needs to be addressed. The author is urgent in his strong opening statement and voices his opinion that requires immediate and necessary action (urgency) to be acknowledged.

Urgent, inquisitive, ummm that’s all I remember

oh god there was one question about the weathering of rocks into soil I was really unsure about. I forgot what it was but it was very hard. :/

hey i dunno if this was answered or not but for the black author passage,
what did passage 1 talk about that passage 2 didn’t talk about?
answer choices were like: behavior of students, cant remember the others

and also, what statement in passage 1 contradicts the lines 100-102 in passage 2?
i thought the main 2 choices were either: professors dislike of student behavior (dont remember exact wording, but something along those lines), or students behaving more like consumers

reflective was a choice

I think both of the questions about the black guy reading books had to do with reading things because they made sense to him (or something along those lines). I don’t think the answers projected on the bottom of page 37 are correct…

The contradiction was that the university refused to support the company’s ideas.

WHy did the blakc author read the books?

Stylistic achievement or because it had something to do with him feeling good?

for the sentence completion did anybody get summation…complement for one or was it something and parallel it had to do with a complicated intro and conclusion and also did you get taut for one of them?

yea i got that summation…complement

what were the other choices with taut? dont remember puttin it

The question about professors dislike of student behavior was another question and that was the right answer because in only passage 1 do they cite that. Also for the question about students behaving more like consumers is a different question which was also the right answer because in passage 1 and 2 kids behaved more like consumers as technology increased and the pragmatic intelligence of past inventors and important people in history were lost etc.
