so can someone address the question that cricket had about the differences between the two passages (last question of test)? anyone remember saying 1 was more critical?

Well, I disagree b/c passage one said how newspapers and blogs were both good but basically that blogs allow more journalist-reader interaction. Passage 2 said that newspapers were just better in general but that blogs had good scholars that sucked at journalism. Passage 2 also compared the two A LOT. So I put “overstated similarities.”

Ok if it said

“EVEN the most solid objects…” then I might have to agree with you guys.

The passage 1 vs. passage 2

I put passage 1 was critical of a current trend but passage 2 was more historical context? (i put hsitroical for an answer to pasage 2’s questions 3 TIMES!!–so i am hoping they are all right)

The one about introducing humor and questioning her accuracy.

I thought the entire passage was suppose to be kinda humorous so I put she just wanted to interject some more humor…i mean why would she randomly question her accuracy outloud in a book? thats just kinda weird…

yep cricket that’s what I said!

(for p1 v. p2)

Ya thats wat I got

for the overstating similarity question was there a choice that had “understating…” cuz i think i remember putting something witht that and its making me crazy?

Im guessing Im also on the minority for introducing humor? Most of you guys put questioning her accuracy?

I wish i saw that passage again becasue I dont understand why she would randomly question her accuracy outloud when talking to herself…seems a bit odd.

Also what did you guys get for the one “sentecnes 100-102 in passage 2 is most contradicted by”

was it professors hating mall trend or te university rejecting a company’s offer (i put this one about how the research rejected the company’s offer so it shows unverisities arent always siding with comsumerism)

And I remember another hard question in that section about consumerism and it was like “what do these sentences in passage 1 say about consumerism” but i dont remember the exact question.

i posted the passage…check a few pages back

Empathy???
negligent, essential???
attitude toward students???

what were the questions to these answers?

wait bee for the one about the women? i cant find it i only saw the passage 2 one.

attitude towards students - perturbed

i said the one about the contradiction was something like the university INITIALLY accepted and then rejected? i remember reading others saying this? Please comment on this one!

^i put something with the unveristy rejecting

i know i didnt put the college professors one…i put unversity rejecting the company’s medicine.

Was the answer to the one that asked “What does mystery mean?” Was it wondrous???

was “understating something” a choice for the overstating similiarities question or no?

yes and yes.

what did you guys put humor vs. accuracy? did everyone put accuracy for that one?

also what about what would contradict it? was it the onea bout university rejecting drug?

i think it was that the university initially accepted and then rejected - that has to be the same as the other choice people are thinking about re. rejecting. They wouldn’t have too that are so similar.

If I’m thinking of the right question, i think the contradict one is something about giving the corporations less of a grasp on publishing the news.

what did the choice exactly say for understating?

The contradict one was that Dr. Dong’s (haha) university initially condoned her research or something. I’m prettty, pretty sure. The one you’re thinking of Latency is the answer to a different question.

Na your response was the answer to like the first question on that passage Latency

The drug testing at the university was clearly the contradiction answer; however, wat question are u guys saying that intially accepting then rejecting was the answer 2?
