June 2009 SAT Critical Reading

Definitely not benign, it was protean

Honestly, I think virulent, deleterious, and protean all work great.

Virulent–adjective

 1. actively poisonous; intensely noxious: a virulent insect bite.
 2. Medicine/Medical. highly infective; malignant or deadly.

I should’ve left it blank.

I put virulent. Grr. But contagious was there, so yeah.

It wasnt about it spreading it was about the nature of the virus changing and the immune system not being able to fight it off in a single body contagion deals with the spread of infection between multiple people. i picked the one i didnt know because i knew the other ones were wrong

i think virulent was right :/

I put virulent but it was def wrong
it talked about how it was changing

that’s the def on protean

It was protean.

Because the part afterwards said that the virus had many forms (protean)

That being said I put virulent… oops

Aluminum-agreed

Was the passage with gendered words experimental?

Sorry, but what question is the one with endearing and impassioned? Neither of those are ringing a bell for me…

It was about a speech that moved the audience…

was one of the last vocab questions answers “touched” cuz i dont remember that ? but could somebody say what the other answer choices were?

yeah, the one about tactile, which means touched

what were the other choices?

yup…one question ive missed so far = /

umm interpret was a choice and envision was another

hmm i dont remember any of those do u remember any others? and those words sound too easy for the last question?

Heh…still drawing dead.

Empathy???
negligent, essential???

what were the questions to these answers?

I think so far I missed 2 or 3. Is that bad for the first time? I have to retake it anyway b/c the summer program I’m going to preps you for the ACT and SAT and the subject tests. I just wanted to see how I’d do if I took it on my own.

It said something like “The fervent speaker gave an _______ speech that moved the crowd”

I totally BS’d that, but it was along those lines.

anybody remember the choices for touched besides interpret and envision?
