June 2012 SAT II Biology

soil is not deep in the tundra. I put root system wouldn’t get a grip.
“The ground is always frozen beneath the top layer of soil, so trees can’t send their roots down.”
3rd option when googling “tundra trees”

for the insects and the trees, I put the upsidedown U shape since the insects would reduce in population numbers when not enough tree is going around to feed everyone.

yes .

I also checked

The graph which went up and then died. When the tree fell their population increased and it decreased when the tree was finished. Was the one about human pop. A direct relationship? With no capacity or was it the one with??

exponential because human population hasn’t leveled off yet

what did you put for the aquatic plant? was it the oxygen bacteria or raise pH.

this is the december 2010 exam

I think I put low concentration of oxygen seeking bacteria would be around it.

For the tundra question, I put the one about a tree not being able to get roots into the soil. I completely guessed, hoping that’s right.

West Coast here… What was the spleen question? Recycles cells right? The insect was a bell curve but i put carry capacity graph Also what was the rats things variable? I said that they should all be fed the same? Additionally the tundra question was that roots could not penetrate.

I put that the rats should be fed the same as well

do ribsosomes have protiens b/c for the question i thought that the trna only had an amino acid chain not a protien.

For human I put exponential but for insects I put the exponential with carrying capacity since the insects will die as the tree is gone. I omitted the question about which animals were closely related to primates… Most likely it was whales. I didn’t thinkit was too bad. I finished with 25 minutes left.

I put ribosomes had trna and protein

They were pregnant so I put they should be fed the same.

On the E section, there was a global warming question. One of the answers was like CFCs are in the ozone layer and another was that there was an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. What did everyone get?

I put exponential for humans, bell curve for insects, and up then straight for carrying capacity.

greenhouse gases. CFCs & the ozone layer are NOT related to global warming.

The increase in the greenhouse gases because the CFCs one said most which isn’t true

i said chemical signal for the muscle one was that right?

It was not the CFC answer because it talked about CFC being in the Ozone Layer (not true).

The one about the tree was a bell curve because as the tree decomposes, the ants will go away until it reaches zero

i don’t remember the spleen question at all. was it in E?
