@scarlettlovesivy How can I aim for a 2000 if I even cant get a 1700 :-S I have already taken the SAT 3 times. my scores drastically drop or increase. It’s like the stock market! All I can do is work harder for the October exam

@sat2014 If you don’t mind me asking what did you get the past three times? I would love to be of any help to you, if I can. :)

@sat2014 Btw, I love how you’re determined no matter what, it’s really admirable. I respect that a lot.

Do any of you guys who scored close to a 2400 or above a 2300 have any tips for Critical Reading? I did pretty bad on this test for the reading, and I need some help. I want to at least break 700 the next time I take the SAT, and also I need help on the writing portion for MC. I just need some feedback, like what books you guys used or how you studied. Appreciate it.

@sat2014, I can help you with the math though. I did get a 680 on this test, which still pisses me off because I couldn’t get a 700. Damn it, anyways try using a book called John Chung’s Math for the SAT. It has like 58 or so tips, and a bunch of practice tests. I also realized that Kaplan’s Practice Test 12 book actually has some old SAT questions that they copied off of the collegeboard book for the SAT. For reading and writing I got no ideas. Also, if you really want hard math problems try Peterson’s for the SAT math section. There tests are pretty hard sometimes.

John Chung is DIFFICULT, but it will OVER PREPARE you!!! That way the math on the actual SAT day is easy. I didn’t get to finish the whole book, but if you have the time try looking at it, if not you can also use Barron’s.

@dan213 I also used Chungs and I didn’t finish it. Last time I got a 740 on math, this time a 680. This time it was ridiculously easy and March was hard.I still can’t pinpoint where I went this wrong.

This test wasn’t even hard, I can’t believe my score went down, I still can’t.

I am using Chungs for SAT II because I kind of have this obsession of being a professor in math (if I do), and so I want to show how strong I am. I am somewhat disabled so physically I am weak, but somehow mentally my brain works. I like to work hard, but only if its like related to school. I guess the reason why the math portion is so hard to get is because the stupid curve, I am pretty sure that curve was a little too harsh. Some people actually got a 690, and I’m like what the heck! I think 690 or 700 should have been my score. I still am mad.

Oh I took Math 2 and got a 770, I love math and I think I’m really good too but this test just wow nope. It’s great that you wanna work hard. Wow a 690? UGH WHY DID WE GET 680s? What’s the stupid curve?

I kind of ignored the post I made yesterday, so officially I am back. I just won’t be on here as often.

i have taken the sat twice and have a superscore of 2150. do u guys think these scores are good enough for boston college.upenn. and cornell?

They might not be enough for UPenn and Cornell. Btw, how does score choice work exactly?

But of course if you have a stellar GPA, it might work out.

Guys, if my email that collegeboard put is wrong, would that be considered bad?

@dan213 What do you mean

@dan213 I got 780 on CR, my tips are to only practice from the blue book and when you miss a question, find out why you missed it to avoid the same type of problem. Also, read passages bit by bit, answering as you go, and look for clues in the lines referenced. Vocab cards are helpful too

Thanks @JamalAmmar. @scarlettlovesivy, I noticed that collegeboard wrote the wrong e-mail address on my SAT score page. They messed up 1 letter.

@dan213 Oh that’s weird, do you think its gonna have an impact on you?

@jamalammar Iv’e done that, and my CR decreased 80 points, 80 POINTS. I can’t even go to sleep, I’m too worried.
