***June 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

Sorry, I’m just really frustrated with Critical Reading.

@scarlettlovesivy‌ I’m genuinely sorry to hear that. Is your superscore at least ok?

@jamalammar No, it sucks :frowning: Not only did my score drop to the 1900’s, no justice was done to my superscore either. Do you think colleges will think badly of me? What if I get a 2250+ in Oct, will I be okay? :((

Jamal, I seriously wish I was you, your score is GODLY. There’s not a thing in the world I wouldn’t do for that score right now.

@asukumar yeah i’m in a similar situation. i got a 6/12 on the essay and im pretty confident that i did NOT do that bad… it dragged my writing to a 710, i only missed 2 MCs, ugh.

Okay goodnight folks, I’ll come back on tomorrow.

1570 1630 and 1620 on this recent one. CR scores 460 570 and 460. Math 580 520 and 550 and writing 530(8) 540(9) and 610(8). I thought for this exam I would retain my 570 in CR get a 580 in M and get a 680 in W with a 10 essay. Essay got an 8 :frowning: would of had a 650 with a 10. got 8 wrong on the MC. thought I got no more than 5 wrong.

@dan213 I got a 800 in CR on the October SAT and a 760 on this one and something I’d recommend is looking at the questions first and making a mark in the text by any line numbers mentioned in the questions. When you get to your mark, just go back and find the question so you’ll have in mind what you’re looking for as you read. For vocabulary, I made notecards because it helped me remember the words and I went with my gut instinct when I came across something I’d never studied! Best of luck to you. :)

@scarlettlovesivy‌ you seriously need to stop complaining about your score. We realize you are upset about it but the last 10 pages of this thread is literally just you complaining about how “bad” you did. At the end of the day we are all here to help but you need to move on. Stop being immature and get a grip because no ivy league school wants a student that is immature and complains when he/she does not succeed. Stop blaming it on the curve and start prepping for the next test.

How do we find out what the curve was?

anybody have an idea for a good SAT math book? I have barrons but I’m not a big fan of it. lots of extra information that I already know. the CR and W for barrons is good thought. I already did the blue book. wanna get my math score 100+ points better from my current 550

@sat2014 Aw, I’m sorry, but do you realize your superscore is a 1760?! That’s way better than many of your individual scores. By the looks of it, I see that you have the potential. I think you might need to change the way you study though because I see patterns in your score. For math, (although I only got a 680 this time, I’m usually a high scorer), I would suggest doing as many problems as possible and going over ALL of it. I suggest Dr.Chung for his tips, and then Blue Book, and really any SAT math prep book, the SAT repeats questions. For writing, trust me, you can improve. Get either Princeton Review or Kaplan, the ones that have a guide with them, and read through their grammar lesson. It covers everything. Then, just apply it to a lot of practice tests. If you don’t want to buy the books, try Sparknotes or SilverTurtle’s guide right on here. I promise your writing score will go up. As for the essay, you don’t seem too off, make sure you fill in both pages, apply a few big words, stick to one side, and use two good examples rather than 3 weak ones. I consistently score 10s which is not good but it can get you a perfect score with perfect MC. As for CR, I am in no position to help because I need help too, but if Ii find a way that clicks, I’ll let you know. Good luck! Hoping to see you get that 2000 :slight_smile:

@csell8 I’m not going to get an attitude with you because it’s not worth it but who told you to read all of my complaining in the past 10 pages of this thread? I don’t understand why it would bother you so much, it’s not like this thread has a limit. I know I should stop complaining, but I think I’ll make the decision of when to stop. You have a good message but you’re being incredibly rude for no reason. I think I know what I’m doing, thanks.

But, I apologize for anyone who truly got annoyed by my complaining. My friends don’t care too much about the SAT so I can’t let it out there, but you guys care so I thought you would understand, and a lot of you did, so I’m glad.

For those of you who want to get some good SAT grammar prep, this link covers a lot of good rules that you should know for the test: http://phs.newcaneyisd.org/apps/download/vQ5wHhS39WnSVi1YJWpqPlWCMOpquc60lepWfEaLOkL6eRnF.pdf/SAT%20Prep--Grammar%20Focus.pdf

For reading, try this strategy: <a href=“SAT Foundations #7: Reading Passage Strategies - YouTube”>SAT Foundations #7: Reading Passage Strategies - YouTube;

For math… just do problems so you don’t make silly mistakes.

These things helped me a great deal. Hopefully it will for you all too. Good luck!

at the very end of the SAT, i noticed that on one page of my answer sheet, some of the bubbles transferred/bled through the other side and were noticeable (but my real answers were still much darker). However, since it was time to leave, i was not able to erase the markings. do you guys think that the scantron machine would think i put in two answers/have stray marks and mess up my score? my score was a little lower than i expected…

@scarlettlovesivy‌ nobody told me to but every single comment is you whining… get a grip.

@csell8 did you make an account just to say that…

@csell8 Alright thank you, I’ll get a grip…
I mean like I appreciate you pointing out that I have been whining and stuff and that I need to work instead of cry about it, but I’m sensitive right now so maybe you didn’t put it in the nicest way possible. However, your words have somewhat pushed me to go grab my SAT book again, so thanks?

@AaznStevy I really do think that person made an account to tell me to get a grip the only two posts made were for telling me to get a “grip”
