Woohoo! My score’s up from a 30. :’)
(Second time taker)
C: 33
E: 35
M: 29 (I’m very disappointed, but it’s marginally better than my previous 26.)
R: 35
S: 34 (!!! It was a 27 before.)
Writing is still not up, but I’m expecting a great score. I’m very pleased with a 33, but I’d love to get my score up even more. Is it unreasonable to retake it, or would it just be a waste of money at this point? With that awful math score, I might, although does that score make me any less competitive in the first place?
I SCORED A 30!!!
C:30
English:32
Math:33
Reading:27 (little lowish still way too happy)
Science:28
@zuminskee I think it normally lowers it. Same thing happened to me. But the english and writing combined score basically never counts so it’s all good
Guys I went from a 22 in the beginning of this year (September) to a 30 in the end. I can’t believe myself.
For those still waiting, here’s a message from the site:

C: 33
E: 34 (18, 16)
M: 34 (18, 16, 16)
R: 35 (18, 17)
S: 28 (woops)
When I took the ACT in December I scored a 28. My dream school is NYU and their average score is between 28 and 32. I think I’m set, SO EXCITED!
@Swimmer1025 Hey, I scored a 30. I took the december one and scored a 29. Pretty upset I only went up one point. Can you give any tips as to how you increased 5 points and how much did you study??
No I contacted them since everyone I knew from my test center had already received their scores. 3 people told me there was no problem, but when I asked for a supervisor, she told me right away that there was a problem.
@elise303 I am so sorry! Did they indicate what type of problem?
To those who score/have scored really high on math: please give me recommendations as to what prep materials to use to boost my score
@kingofacademia4 I scored a 35 on math. I would recommend just retaking algebra, geometry, and pre calc.
You’re asking him to retake math classes as prep for ACT math? That’s hardly a feasible solution. @Sizzleracn
@cornellaspirant I just got a 30, and I want to increase my score to a 33 like you did
My scores were
27 E
35 M
29 R
29 S
11 W
How did you prep to improve your scores like that?
Hi all. Heading into Sophomore year with the following scores:
33 C
35 E
34 R
31 M
31 S
At this early in my high school education with a 33, do you guys think it is possible for me to improve my score to a 35 or 36?
@cjstudent Without a doubt. Buy a few ACT practice books, do a lot of practice tests, and don’t be afraid to take the actual test multiple times if you have to. Before the June ACT, a took a full practice test every day for two weeks before the actual test. While that may seem extreme, taking those tests gives you a ton of experience and can help you learn to catch your simple mistakes. And I definitely am not disappointed with my method, as I just got a 35 and am working for a 36. Focus especially on the math and science sections as those were the two that gave you the most trouble. But if you are willing to put a bit of work into your score, I firmly believe you can reach your goal of a 35 or 36. Congrats on your score, and keep up the hard work.
I got a 10 on writing again, wish I improved to an 11 or 12. Oh well, improving my composite is more important
9 on the essay; was kind of hoping for a 10 but it’ll do - better than my first essay score, anyway.
Yo guys random question. Hopefully I can get some wisdom, I got 32 ACT and 2020 sat. I know obviously that the 32 is better but should I still send both?
@vanihbam unless the schools you apply to require that you send all of the standardized tests you took, I don’t think you should. It could potentially lessen your chances for admission (especially if you apply to selective schools).
hey, i just wanted to know - are different scores but the same number looked upon very differently by colleges? for example, is a 35.25 regarded as extremely superior to a 34.5? or a 34.25 regarded as extremely superior to a 33.5? thanks for clarifying.
