Junior Schedule

Hey guys how do you think this junior (high school) schedule will look? I want to major in Architecture in college.

  1. AP Calc BC
  2. AP Lang
  3. AP Physics 1
  4. Chamber Orchestra
  5. French 4H OR AP Art History OR AP Physics 2
  6. Introduction to Drafting and Design

(You do not need AP Physics 2 for C)

Then Senior…

  1. GA Tech Calc 1&2
  2. College English
  3. AP Physics C
  4. Chamber Orchestra
  5. AP Macro Economics
  6. AP Psychology OR AP Art History
  7. Architecture I

I’m not sure if taking Calculus 1&2 your senior year is the best idea if you are currently planning on taking Calculus BC. Other than that, your schedule looks fine.

That is the recommended next step at our school if we do well (85<) in BC. What do you think about French 4H vs AP Art Hist and AP Psych vs AP Art Hist? Also, do MS foreign language years that count as high school credits count towards recommended three/four years by some colleges? Thanks. @MITer94

For your junior year schedule it looks perfect and for your 3 classes personally I think 1 physics class would be fine so you shouldn’t take that. And between French 4 Honors and Art history. Honestly if you really like French then take it but if your only taking it for a foreign language requirement then you can stop with 3 years of French and go with AP art history,

For your senior year if you didn’t do APAH then do it that year because it doesn’t help with your major and wait to take psych in college. You already have your social science credit with macroeconomics no need to take both.

I say your schedule looks fine; I agree with what Dory702 said.

A 4th year of foreign language will increase your “rigor” for college admission purpose (in addition, GTech has a campus in France and this would be a neat “why GTech” thing to have).
Considering the field you’re interested in (architecture), AP Art History sounds like an important elective to have.

GATech Calc1&2 is post-high school calculus. It’s known to be very, very rigorous.

  1. AP Calc BC
  2. AP Lang
  3. AP Physics 1
  4. Chamber Orchestra
  5. French 4H
  6. Introduction to Drafting and Design

I agree with @MYOS1634
