I used to want to go to Johns Hopkins for their neuroscience program.
But… I really want to go to school in California. Stanford is good for neuroscience, too, but the odds of me getting accepted = 2%.

Kill me now.

thanks guys! i need to visit JHU tho… and drexel.

and essays !
hate them but im starting my “why (insert school here)” essays. and ive already written the first draft of my “write about a lifechanging/important experience” essay .

I’m taking both math subject tests.

You seem like a nice person. I would hate to do that.

But trust me, next year if you people never hear from me again on this site it’s because I am wallowing in the shame of not getting into NEU. I’m looking at the new stats and i’m crying.

^^Why would you do that?

o__O
The idea of doing both tests is enough to make me pass out.

but the lit test on the other hand, that sounds like fun.

i neeeeed to get my sat scores so i can compare
i hate not knowing !!!

the lit test seems easy . but taking TWO maths? CPU, i give you props for that.

Who seems like a nice person?

And I PM’d an MIT rep and she said MIT REALLY doesn’t care. And I won’t go wrong by assuming everything on the MIT site is true. I’ll submit both to colleges. As for other schools, I think she said they don’t care either.

Ada- haha thanks. Bleh, it’s worth it

Definitely find some more safety schools if you are worried. Research the best med programs out there that are less of a reach just in case!

For people who live in washington and can’t get into or can’t afford pre-med programs at JHU or Stanford, they apply to UW because the pre-med is good (I think it’s one of the best public school med programs but don’t quote me on that) and it’s less competitive. But they are not compromising their chances by going there because medical school comes much later. Just some food for thought. don’t give up!

-heads to the NEU board-

USC’s decisions will come out either in a few days or next week-ish.
It’s soooo competitive this year. I’m gonna cry trying to compare myself to the Pacific islanders. Does anyone else do that, so I don’t feel weird?
But haha thanks Black.

I guess I should start on the rest of my essays, since luckily my schools don’t change them :D

I’m taking Math 2 too, I guess. I gotta decide

what does the lit exam entail? is it really difficult? debating taking a subject test or 2 although I don’t want to submit any if I don’t have to haha

@Marine: don’t compare yourself to pacific islanders hahaha

And y’all… the lit test is NOT easy. At all.

But yea ghuskies, I heard that about UW and their pre-med ![]()
And I can’t help but to compare myself haha. I guess it makes me feel a bit better, in a way.

@ ada the lit test is easy. That was my point lolz. It sounds like fun to do.
@Marine no prob :D

…and i’ll tackle you before you can even get close to the NEU board. <.<
I have superpowers, I can leap through time, space and laptops.

and I compare myself just to journalism majors.

Black- no prob for what? Lol

sorry I meant Marine.

screw subject tests. i’ll focus on SAT I lol

just do some research. US news rankings might be helpful

Hahaha Black.
Dang, just checked NEU’s decisions thread. Saw some good stats!

Subject tests I’m taking: US History, Chem, Math 2.
Might add in Biology just for the hell of it to seem “well-rounded”.
I wish they had a psych subject test

ughhh ! hate having to sneeze and then it doesnt happen !!! >:(
