Junioritis, Class of 2012

MIT- I know ED is binding
Huskies- I’d hate to say no if I get accepted, but money counts.
Marine- it’s not restrictive ED. I can still apply elsewhere.

Eh ?

Wait yes it is. That’s BS!

Hmmmm. I’ll have to rethink that. When I visit this summer, I’ll decide.

EDIT: skarpi? What?

If you apply to MIT EA, you can’t apply ED anywhere. :p

Edit: I fixed it ■■■■■.

Marine- you’ve got it backwards lol. If I apply EA MIT, I CAN apply EA anywhere else. Just not ED. if I apply ED to Cornell, I have to apply everywhere else RD.

If you get in Early Decision to Cornell, you have to pull all your applications from RD schools.

I’ll get my decision before RD deadlines. But even if I have sent some apps in, I’m not pulling them until I see the financial aid package from Cornell.

^ but if they don’t offer CPU adequate FA/scholarships then she can work with admissions to rescind the ED
I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.

That’s exactly why I can’t do ED anywhere…there’s simply no way to know if I will get money and I can’t demonstrate financial need. which is stupid. no matter how much $ your parents make, school is expensive >___<

What kind of app is USC on right now? Most of my schools are common app…so I have to put together a kick a** one this summer.

Sorry about that! I keep thinking of Stanford’s REA policies (which…blow…ugh)

But yea CPU. If you get accepted ED to Cornell, they expect you to withdraw your apps if you’ve already applied somewhere. That won’t be the case, since you said you’ll get your decision before RD deadlines.
I would do ED to Vandy, but… they give really good financial aid, and I love USC too much.

USC isn’t on the common app right now. idk what to call it haha.
And same. :(

I know they’ll expect me to, but I won’t if I have to pay more than 10k. And even that’s more than I can afford. I did an EFC calculator on their website. Diff than FAFSA.

The package comes with the ED decision. Or a couple days later. They won’t know I didn’t pull others.

@CPU That’s great news. All works out pretty well it seems!

@marine: just checked out the USC app and oh my goodness…it’s pretty much a messy version of the common app honestly. I like the bit about personal info asking your favorite food and fictional character. that’s something fun and different than the common app at least!

Most of my schools apps are closed.

And I hope it works out!

Haha I know ghuskies  I can’t waitttt to apply argh.

I have no clue what to write about for my essays though.

me neither! excited to get em all out there. then it’s a waiting game

I’m in the same boat. I have some premature ideas…eek. This is why we’re safe though, by starting months ahead of time.

My friends laugh at me and think I’m crazy for starting so early.

We’ll see who’s laughing when they’re struggling to meet deadlines :D

I was gonna say that ^^

Oh, I’ll be laughing HYSTERICALLY.

Eh, no ED to Cornell. I like applying to four schools early.

Hahaha :)

I was gonna do EA to Georgetown, but everyone that applies early (mostly) has to do an interview.
I’d much rather do that for RD if anything, because august through December are my busiest months and id probably have to cancel…thus screwing myself over lmao.

I’m so picky (:

agh interviews :(

but i know like everything about my schools haha. i smile when i’m nervous in an interview. and my whole body shakes lol. gotta work on that.

I hope I get interviews! I don’t know how they work though, if you’re out of state, do you meet with a rep from the college? or do you have to do it on the phone? I’m good with interviews and I think it would be a good way for colleges to get to know the human side of me as an applicant lol

LOL CPU sometimes my head starts twitching/shaking. ugh!

@Marine: I got made fun of for studying for the SATs! People are ridiculous…they will regret it later lol

@CPU: SAMEEE HEREEE. lol I need to work on that.
I think the two schools I’m gonna work hard on are USC, no doubt, and Stanford.
If by some miracle I got into both, I’d probably cry because I wouldn’t know which to choose.
