If I go to my state school my best friend who moved a few years ago (she lives 3 hours away now) and I want to room together. Honestly I can see it working out fine because we are like sisters and we’ve never really had a major fight. We always see eye to eye it’s weird…she’s the only person I can imagine it not ruining our friendship.

Other friends who I love, I can see it driving me insane…thats why I think it’d work with my other one lol.

@Ada: noo!!! don’t watch anymore! watch something happy

I’m finishing my stats homework and sitting here with cramps ugh…it’s a fun saturday night lol.

Thanks for the input too btw!

Rooming with friends (in an apartment, not a dorm) most likely leads to a negative outcome. Most people would try to get over on you with paying the bills, and they’ll say “come on we’re friends I’ll pay next time.”

I wouldnt want to room with a friend. Just because you are close friends doesn’t mean you will last living together. Same thing in a relationship/after getting married. You find out more about that person than you want to know. Aka the REAL them. Which wouldn’t be bad for a relationship, but you should find out ahead of time.

it’s like that movie…the roommate. dun-nuh. dun-nuh. dun-nuh-dun-nuh-dun-nuh…

no but i’m seriously excited about having a roommate. and i mean…i wouldn’t want to room with a close friend i’ve never lived with before…like if the person started as my roommate and then we lived somewhere, i wouldn’t mind.

but then again, i feel like it would be easier to live with a guy than with a girl. less drama = less trauma. plus they might kill me because i’m super messy. maybe it’s just the types of girls i’m friends with. idk…

yeah, @ada, i think my parents would kill me too. not that they would have a say in that anymore, though. (; and @CPU - hang in there, girl.

@marine: I JUST WOKE UP TOO! nice.

None of my friends / really good friends will be going to California for college, so I won’t know anyone at the schools I’m going to. :(

But indigo…I FEEL THE SAME WAY about rooming with guys. It would be so much easier ahaha.

Lol if I end up going to school there, I’m doing it. In the end I’d rather be starting a new chapter of my life with someone I know and seriously just DON’T ever fight with than some random stranger. I can be picky and if I got someone really messy or someone who doesn’t have decency to respect the rules like bringing alcohol and boys into the room at night, I’m not cool with it.

I know my friend would never not pay the rent. Our parents are very similar in how the raised us.

I agree about the guy thing! This is why it’s so good to have guy friends…whenever I’m tired of drama I will just hang out with them or text them instead. Something about the simplicity of guys. They just don’t care for the drama.

Indigo- hang in there with what? Sorry, I’m a total mess right now:(

I don’t mind not knowing anyone at college
I’d rather not.

And many of the schools im applying to have housing that used to be mansions. There are more single available (even if you don’t ask, you will likely get one.) and the rooms are huge :)

For freshman year I’d like to room alone. Then for the other years room with a friend I’ve made. I share a room now, and I’d like my own space. Plus, I like having my own room in general.

SO much easier. if i ever get the chance to room with a close guy friend during my later years in college, i’m going to do it. (:

and i’m kind of glad i prob won’t be at the same school with people from my school. since our class is pretty small, everyone will be pretty spread out. i kinda like the idea of going somewhere where nobody knows me. (not that i won’t miss my friends like craaazy.) XD

EDIT: @CPU - i meant about the guy thing. honestly, if i were you i just wouldn’t have the time… X)

I wish they allowed ‘both gender roommates’ at Chapman (do they?). I would love to have girl roommate who surfs or in some type of sports or is creative. If I have a boy roommate we’re gonna kick it off and basically go out and do crap all day - everyday.

I am with you as well indigo, I want to escape London.

@warehouse: sorry, man: [Chapman University - Transfer Student Housing Communities](<a href=“Page Not Found | Chapman University”>Page Not Found | Chapman University)
maybe you can switch roommates with the girl next door? haha…how would they know?

EDIT: also, as a freshman, expect to be roomed with not one guy, but two:

<a href=“Page Not Found | Chapman University”>http://www.chapman.edu/studentlife/reslife/firstyears/default.asp :P

@Warehouse: I don’t think they do lmao. I think they have co-ed floors, but not dorm rooms haha. But they wouldn’t know if you roomed with a girl :D

Indigo- lol thanks! Boys are a stressor though -_- maybe I’ll have a fling the summer before college hahahaha.
I don’t have time either. It’s just nice to dream, right?

I LOVE the fact of nobody knowing me there. I can be whoever I want (not that I’m gonna change my identity lol. Just be more relaxed.)

Colleges are huge, the chance of you running into people from HS the way you do in the halls of your HS is very small haha.

I feel like everyone will reinvent themselves at one point too so people from HS might surprise you later on.

@CPU that’s really cool about the mansions!! and definitely…it’s a clean slate. very nice.

Haha, I don’t mind who I roomie with if I do get in. I just want an extrovert. No one boring please, also I am planning to take up soccer there so hopefully someone else who plays. What are you guys planning to do in the summer of 2012 (before you head off to college)?

My plan is to sleep in everyday so the days go by faster. Or beg my room to buy me an early ticket to LA and then stay in a hotel until move-in day.

Edit : Living with two other guys will be lol, indi. I can easily say I am looking forward to that, I just hope they’re not boring. All we will need is a turntable in the room and we’re good.

@CPU: What’s going on? Did I miss something as usual?
But yea, I agree. Not knowing anyone will be scary at first cause I’m going so far away… but it will be NICE
A reinvention is in order.

i want a double ! i have my own room and i dont even sleep in it. i hate being alone. but rooming with a guy would be the BEST. i grew up with my male cousins and i have no sisters so im more comfy with guys.

EDIT: @CPU i want a summer fling too !

Huskies- at any school in CT, I’m DEFINITELY going to run into people I know. So many people go to UCONN/southern/eastern/western -_-

Except Yale, I won’t know anyone there
except a guy who graduated in 20__ He’s a basketball prodigy. He was recruited, though. Not to say he’s stupid, but not top of the class.

EDIT: I HOPE WE ALL HAVE AMAZING SUMMER FLINGS BEFORE COLLEGE NEXT YEAR
hehehe

Maybe we’ll have cool dorm halls where the doors are all open and everyone goes in and out. Haha I can dream…idk how they are but that would be nice to have friendly neighbors!

@Warehouse: You should explore LA that summer! It would be really fun for you I’m sure and you can get accustomed to the area, learn your way around, etc. Plus you won’t be jetlagged by the time class starts lol. My parents might take me on a trip to Europe. We’ll see. Lots of late nights with friends from HS I’m sure.

@CPU: haha oh man >___< oh well!

lol… I’m not applying to VT anymore.

Too many people from my school got in. Many want to go into Engineering/CS. I don’t feel like seeing them again.

Dorms… lol.

This summer… not sure what I want to do.

Awesome, I was planning to go Magaluf (It’s called Shagaluf by the locals. Mainly because it’s a…sex island) and have a blast but I think I might go LA instead and explore. And your right about being jet-lagged, my plan was to go to land in LA a day or a couple hours before move-in day at Chapman.
