Carnegie111, I don’t think being Catholic is a deciding factor. The two students who were admitted EA from my son’s high school were Jewish and non-Catholic. There are so many variables - it’s hard to figure out. I’m keeping good thoughts that you will be admitted off the WL.

Really it sounds like your just here to show off b/c i was accepted and my SATs were lower, my GPA was lower, I had almost no real extracurriculars or volunteer work-my only involvement with school was that I was in one club in 9th grade and played in band for four years…then again I am Irish…

um, i don’t think he’s showing off. i have very similar stats and was waitlisted. if you got in with lower stats than that this year, consider yourself lucky and not part of the norm. one of my best friends who had 2300something on her SATs and a 4.0 got flat-out rejected. college admissions is a toss-up

I would say make sure the SATs come up a little, mine were 2190, yet I am in the top 15% of incoming freshmen so your current scores are probably good now anyway.
Everything else academically looks good to me from what you posted. My ECs were comparable to yours, except I had more leadership in athletics rather than clubs, which probably doesn’t make a difference. BTW, I was admitted EA, I’m a white middle class Catholic female from NH, if that means anything.

if anything, i deal with my dad saying that im not doin enough with my life, almost everyday… and i should be like the other kids at my school who have no problem scorin 2340,2360,2370,2380… i think those are the 4 highest at my school… and then theres a large population between 2200-2300… im pretty down there… the average score here is what i have… so… all i asked for was some advice… constructive criticism… nothin to tick off anyone… relax buddys

My daughter was waitlisted. She had a 4.4 weighted GPA, was ranked 37th out of 695, took 6 APs. She had incredible leadership ECs, and TONS of community service. I felt her essay was really strong. Public high school, Catholic faith. From Illinois which I thought would help. Was really shocked when she didn’t get in. She is off to Notre Dame!
