<p>well, i’m a mishmash of multiple kinds! buy multiple books at a time…finish them no matter what, (even if i dont like them ie twilight), love old books, but trying to get used to ebooks, will turn a page corner down, but cant get rid of a book (as evidenced by my bookshelves and stacks of books on the floor), usually read before i go to sleep (and btw that ipad hurts way more when it hits your face, than a regular book)</p>

<p>Once I start reading I can’t stop and have been know to stay up 24 + hours to finish.</p>
<p>Definitely a bookophile, with stacks of stuff waiting, lists of potential targets, and not enough time! Love used book stores, amazon, and can’t drive past the library if they have the Book Sale Today sign out…</p>
<p>Delayed Onset Reader #1. I’m exactly the same as Emily up there. I will often spend more time looking for a book than actually reading it because if I’m going to read it then I want it to be good. It’s logical in my head :)</p>
<p>Not sure which I am: currently reading An Important Book Because I Think I Ought To, a trashy mystery novel, a childrens book on tape in the car, and a bedtime comfort read of early-mid 20th century humorous short stories.</p>
<p>Multitasker here. I have a hard cover going on the night stand (also sleepy time reader) a different one on the Kindle, another on the ipad, and one on the phone. Used to have a paperback in the pool bag but the Kindle goes with me now. I use different devices depending on where I am. I’ll read a few pages on the phone waiting for client, some on the ipad if the Kindle is not near. I don’t synchronize the ebooks any more since there are too many of use reading books on the same Amazon account so they are all different. Sometimes I have go back up a page or 2 if its been a while since I read that one, but I can usually keep them straight.</p>
<p>I read one book after another, all the way through. I can count on one hand the number of books I have abandoned and not finished. I like to have a stack of 5-10 books waiting to be read, usually from thrift stores or Half Price Books, but if something on my reserve list at the library comes in it will go to the top of the stack. Having books waiting to be read feels like money in the bank. I never pause between finishing one book and starting the next, the transition is immediate.</p>
<p>I’m a combo of the “Hopelessly Devoted” (cause once I find an author I like, I will read everything I can by that author), “The Sharer” - I want to share and talk about a book I just finished and promote it to everyone else and “The Sleepy Bedtime Reader” - I almost always read at bedtime - don’t have/find much time to read during the day - but I can stay awake for quite awhile before my eyes get sleepy and I have to put the book down.</p>
<p>So I guess I’m a “Hopelessly Devoted Sharer and Bedtime Reader”. :)</p>
<p>Multitasker. Two on my son’s coffee table when I take care of the kitty some weekends. One is a YA the other a travel diary written in 1850s I have been reading for years. Two hard covers by beside. Actually finished one last night that I started over a year ago. The other a NF that I am 1/3 through. Two new books from public library on coffee table</p>

I’m a combo of a Delayed Onset Reader #1, a Bookophile and a Sharer; D1 is a Bookbuster, D2 is a Bookophile. But I’m a librarian so it’s to be expected.</p>
<p>i’m with you abasket… i cant read 2 “recreational” books at the same time… i may have a novel i’m reading and also be reading a technical/hobby type book but never 2 novels at the same time</p>

<p>I read all time. I don’t watch TV. I enjoy good books, but will read anything in a pinch. My lowest point, years ago, was reading my ex’s motorcycle magazines. And I had no interest in motorcycles.</p>
<p>I have a kindle, but try to stick to the lower priced books, else I’d be broke. I typically read several books a week, and am looking forward to my daughter’s after school activities starting this week, since I get to read while I’m waiting!</p>
<p>martina: there are message boards that list the free & low cost Kindle books. Don’t know the exact url; I’m a Nook owner and look at their board a couple of times a week; just downloaded 7 new (and completely FREE) books on Friday.</p>
<p>I’m a combo, a Chronological Bookophile. I’ve been known to not buy certain editions of books because I didn’t like their paper/font/general design. I don’t own an e-reader because the physical aspect of books is so important to me.</p>
<p>^^^booklady: D2 feels that DH, D1 & myself are all traitors to books because we have eReaders. Last Christmas, D1 pulled a practical joke by wrapping D2’s present in a Kindle box. 3 of us thought the reaction was hysterical…</p>
<p>I refuse to be classified! Too many books, too little time! I like to read YA, but not exclusively. I like non-fiction about social issues such as education, food or politics and history but love to read new books by unknown authors if someone says that it’s sooo good that I have to read it. Sometimes I’ll read one book all the way through, and sometimes I’ll have two or three books going at the same time. There are a few authors that I’ve read everything they’ve written.</p>
<p>Wellspring, I think you and I are twins! (That is, assuming that you are a late adopter like me and always read real books instead of using an electronic device.)</p>
