Just got my first rejection...(rutgers)

What the ****. I’m probably gunna end up going to some gay community college now. I honestly thought I would cry if this happened but I’m not for some reason, maybe it hasn’t set in yet. I checked my status online everyday for the last 4 months to see the same "In process and now it said “not admitted.” I feel like the last couple years were a waste since I actually tried. I’m probably gunna be up all night now. Well hopefully there’s a good party this weekend.

Uhh calm down man. If you applied elsewhere there’s still hope :-)

Um…yeah…I didn’t apply anywhere else so now I gotta.

Oh. well hurry then!

University of washington is still accepting. Pretty good school.

If he did not get into Rutgers…what makes you think WUSTL is going to be more feasible…

(not trying to put you down or offend you man)

University of washington (Seattle,WA)

the University of Washington and WUSTL are 2 different schools

Lots of schools with 1/15 deadlines posted here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/439570-january-15-admission-deadline.html

University of Washington is not WUSTL  but it is very picky when it comes to out-of-staters.

Washington is way too far for me. I’ll figure something out.

rutgers, I’m very sorry to hear about your rejection :frowning: Partying hard might seem like a good way to vent some steam out, but I suggest skipping the parties this weekend and hitting the application forms. If you need help with essays, there is plenty of kids on these boards who are done with their applications and who have a few spare minutes now to help others. :)

Apply to Montclair.

^^Montclair is a joke …but the girls there arre pretty amazing

apply to pitt or penn state, maybe.

i thought rutgers accepts everyone…

West Virginia University has a rolling admissions policy. It is also a Big East school so you could take some satisfaction in the Mountaineers’ pounding the Scarlet Knoghts on the football field for the next four years.

Seriously, WVU has some excellent programs and Morgantown is not a bad college town. It is more forgiving than many neighboring flagship universities of GPAs and SAT scores. The biggest concern is that it has a reputation as a party school, but as is the case in most universities there are plenty of kids who aren’t partying their lives away.

I know somebody who was rejected by Rutgers (her dream school). She went to a small private college and reapplied to Rutgers and was rejected again. She then attended Ramapo for sophomore year. She was accepted at Rutgers as a junior, and will be graduating from there on time.

My advice is to look at what you can afford and who is still accepting applications. Don’t repeat this mistake, but get a bunch of apps. out there. Good luck! Oh, and Montclair is not a joke. One of my son’s friends attends and he really likes it. Also, seek help from your guidance counselor. Did he/she advise you to apply to more than one school?

Rutgers has a 58% acceptance rate, according to the College Board site.

There are plenty of schools out there with application deadlines in Feb. You’ll get in somewhere else, but you have to apply!

That was ignorant.
