does SAT scores matter much if you are an international applicant?? Or do they give more weighting to your high school GPA and exam grades.

I have a perfect 4.0 GPA and gaining 4As at my A-level studies but my SAT scores are not exactly top notch. Do i still have a chance at any of HYP?

since u have a perfect GPA, if u have good ECs then I don’t think SAT’s shud be that much of problem for you.

well…sat does count…big time…and did u calculate that gpa just on the basis of grades? which subjects had u given???

for my a-level im taking biology, chemistry, maths and psychology

You are assigned a GPA even though you are taking ‘A’ levels?

yeah we have a GPA based on GCSE and A-level grades

Interesting, because my school doesn’t assign any GPA for us.

Anyway, take a shot at HYP if you really want to go there. Things do happen.

SATs definitely matter, but the extent to which it matters should differ from school to school.

does applying ED help this situation in any way?

Well, the deadline for ED is over, I guess.

I already applied ED for Princeton. do u noe if they are rlly strict on SAT scores or if they take a more holistic view of the application. I do have very strong ECs

u will be at a disadvantage i guess…

Hmm, the problem is we don’t really what your exact SAT score is. :D

you can find my full stats on the princeton thread under “ED chances!!”

In any case, since you have already submitted your app, just pray for the best
No point brooding over it anymore.

yeah…just wait and pray for all the luck…btw i am doing the same
