Just how much time do I got left?

I’m becoming a senior and I want to get into UC Irvine, by GPA is crap, (371 W, 3.5 UW), and my test scores are horrible-(1620 SAT, 24 ACT, 650/600 SAT2s)

How much tests do I got left to boost my test scores up? I haven’t studied for any of them. I always say I’ll study but I never do until the day before. How can I motivate myself to study and get a good score?

in state I’m assuming? Get a private tutor if you have the cash, its a waste of money, but most problems are solved by throwing money and time at them

You do want to get accepted to UC Irvine? There’s your motivation.

Lol, brilliant.

Im in a similiar situation too! Im going to be a senior and I want to retake some of my SATs, and I going to take the ACT, just to see how it goes. We have until December I think, is that when we turn in UC apps?

I think you still have a chance at Irvine, maybe you should retake your SAT 1 or something. And seriously think about your essay.

Honestly, UCI isn’t that difficult to get into. You stand a good chance to get admitted. Just make sure you get all A’s and write a good essay.

all A’s for my 1st semester of senior year? I’m not really as smart as everybody here on CC. :/

Since when were grades a measure of how smart you were?

Alright, school-wise, grade-wise, test-wise, I’m not as smart as most CCers on this forum. :/

-Is it possible to raise my 24 ACT to a 29+?
-Possible to get 650 to 700+ in Math2? How do I raise my USH score? I’m horrible at history, but to get into a UC I need 2 subject tests.

Well, I’m sure since you have motivation on your side, it’s very possible. Just get some review books for the ACT’s and SAT tests, and just do a little bit every day. Set a certain time everyday, so that you don’t forget about it or put it off, and just review for 20-30 mins. Over the summer, that’ll add up. If you really want to go to UC Irvine, then I’m sure assigning a little task for yourself each day isn’t too demanding.

42.3%? I don’t think that getting into Irvine is an extreme challenge if they accept roughly less than half of their applicants (not biasing, I love UCI.) Get good grades for senior year and show how you can turn things around, and for the SAT I suggest getting every single SAT practice test out there (finish with Collegeboard, because they’re the original ones and you can “test” how much you’ve improved after al the other tests. Kaplan is considered easier than the SAT, I think Barrons is considered harder) and practicing with those. Then again that costs cash. So get a tutor, and make THEM get your materials and teacher you :)

I suggest mindlessly memorizing vocabulary words.

I don’t have the money, or time to get a teacher. Are my SAT2’s okay for UCI? Should I raise them up more?
