<p>I have gotten 3 D’s so far in my highschool career and plenty of C’s but for some reason I got an 84.6% average. If I get all A’s my senior year, will I be able to attend a state college? My goal is too get 95 and up my senior year and I know I can do if I just apply myself. All I take is college prep classes and I’m involved in marching band, Jazz Band, and I play varsity Basketball and I have done at least 50 hours of community service. I talk to my counselors and some of my teachers and they said if I stick to my goals of all A’s I would get accepted to Kutztown or East Stroudsburg University. I have very solid letters of recommendations I guess. One graduated from Oklahoma and he is my private percussion teacher. I checked all the college websites I want to apply for and they all have accept people with a 3.0 gpa and lower but I dont think they accept people who get D’s. Should I just go to community college for 2 years and transfer or should I at least try and send my application in to some colleges?</p>

<p>Send your application in. You never know what could happen and you won’t end up in a position worse than you are now. The only place to go is up.</p>
<p>You still have a shot at a lot of colleges. Maybe you won’t get into Ivies or top 20 schools but there are still many schools that would be willing to take you. So I wouldn’t give up and go on the community college route just yet if your heart is set on going to a 4-year school.</p>
<p>BTW, I got 1 D and a lot of Cs as well on my HS transcript but I still got into 8/11 of the schools I applied to.</p>
<p>Thanks for the answers. I have become really depressed just worrying about school but I’m just going to study for my SAT’s and hope for the best. The only reason im really worried is I do so bad in all my core classes like English and Math and Science I always get a C or D but my electives I always get A to A+. I hope I get all A’s my senior year. I know I can do it if I just apply myself. So far I sent out applications to Kutztown and EastStroudsburg University if anyone has heard of them. Any other useful information would be appreciated. I no far worse people who have gotten a lower 84 average and got accepted to does colleges though so I’m not too worried. Thanks for the replies!</p>
