Justified

I watch just a few shows, and apparently most seem to be taking a break :(, but I remembered my oldest mentioning that she watched Justified which is a western based on a character developed by Elmore Leonard.
Now I am familiar with Leonard but not the character, I thought it was going to be a western set in the mid century, not present day.
I like it, and although I am a long way from being caught up, I’ve seen guest stars like Clarence Williams lll! and Stephen Root as a judge that wears speedos under his robe & packs a sidearm.

I live on the west coast in a city so the setting of Harlan County, Kentucky is very exotic to me, even though my some of my ancestors are from that general region & D travels with her BF several times a year to vist his parents who’ve retired to a lake in southern Tenn.

The storyline is based around the main character, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens played by Timothy Olyphant who I hadn’t seen before although he starred in Deadwood.
I hope that they continue to flesh out some of the supporting roles although i enjoy watching him, the amount of violence pushes my admittedly very low tolerance.
Nicely written complex characters for the most part.
I even now like his nemesis/childhood friend who I couldn’t stand at the beginning.

Anyone else watching?

Justified is one of my favorite shows. Two seasons back the storyline and acting were outstanding. A matriarch of a backwoods weed growing clan named Mags was Raylan’s nemesis. The actress won awards for her portrayal. She will blow you away. Has a new season started?

I’m still watching second season, so it is in the middle of Mags and her “boys”, and Ava has just allowed Boyd to move in.

Love love love Justified. One of my favorite show and never fails to surprise me. Love me some Timothy Olyphant.

Season 2 is great. Can’t wait for season 4!

We are fans of “Justified” and we once lived in KY for a brief time and it brings back some tender memories. We also thought “Deadwood” was truly brilliant and were sad when it ended.

January cannot come too soon! That’s when season four is set to begin. It’s our favorite show on TV. Having grown up in Kentucky, I can testify that the setting and characters are pretty true to Harlan. I encourage everyone to start with season one and catch up. Once our best friends heard us talk about how good the series is, they caught up by watching an entire season in one weekend. It’s addictive. And let’s face it … Raylan is pretty easy on the eyes.
