barboza, I have most of the time agreed with you, but in this instance, I have to proclaim: I think Sarah Palin is the Bees Knees and I hope she is an up and coming person in the Republican Party in the near future!
Say hi to Katie for me, but right now, I’m too busy for her.
Oh, but if you see Rush Limbaugh on Grounds, please txt me immediately, I’ll drop everything!!
TX

She’s a UVA grad.
Her husband died of colon cancer and her sister? I think died of pancreatic cancer. She is bonded to UVA obviously and is funding the medical center.

Her sister was a really good local Democratic politician who would, no doubt, have been a major figure on the state and national political scene if not for her untimely death.

Oh, but if you see Rush Limbaugh on Grounds, please txt me immediately, I’ll drop everything!! ;-)

You wanna meet the guy who wants us as a nation to fail? I don’t want to get into a political argument, but it really surprises that this is coming from a UVA student. Whatever…

I thought powderpuff was joking, but maybe I was wrong. In which case, wow, but as MechWahoo stated, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :)

Most likely Katie '79 was on Grounds with her daughter for Days on the Lawn on Saturday…they probably also strolled past Katie’s Lawn Room and Bonnycastle…

Your opinion should be based on your interpretation of facts. Limbaugh does not want the nation to fail; rather, he wants Obama to fail.

I presume you know that Obama is not the nation. Although Couric and her so-called journalist colleagues would have you believe differently.

There are some decent political science classes you can take at UVa which might help you understand what Jefferson, Adams, and the other founders of our country wrote in our constitution. I recommend attending a few.

“Your opinion should be based on your interpretation of facts. Limbaugh does not want the nation to fail; rather, he wants Obama to fail.”

Although I do agree with you on this, I feel like wanting Obama to fail is a bit like wanting America to fail. Whether Limbaugh likes it or not, Obama is our president. If Obama fails, most likely America will follow suit (depending on the degree at which he hypothetically fails). Again, I do agree with what you say in a sense, but I understand why Wahoomb would make the observation that they did.

And also, why a course on the Constitution, our of curiosity? I understand political theory and political science courses, but America today isn’t exactly what the Founders wanted in the first place.

No need to respond as UVAhopeful has accurately explained what I was trying to say. And parenthesis, thanks for the advice, but I already graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UVA with a degree in gov’t. I have taken enough gov’t classes to know what I’m talking about. And please, let us not turn this into a political debate.

Why has this thread gone political? The OP was merely thrilled to see Katie C, someone who has been far more successful than nearly all of us ever hope to be.

Do you remember what her question was at the echols student panel? I was there but didn’t see her! Was it the one asking if the honor code is outdated/if it still holds meaning? Trying to jog my memory…thanks!
