I am new here; so, please direct me to a different forum if that is where I should post.
Can anyone give me an idea if IU Bloomington offers any merit scholarships for out of state students? I am trying to figure out of my student has any chance of going. Also if she should take the SAT one more time. She’ll be a direct admit (GPA 4.0, SAT 1450). Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
I’m a 3 year ago parent - but if I recall the Dean’s scholarship can - or did range from $6-10K or so, maybe $12K. Mine got $9K.
There’s an app for more scholarships you can fill out called the SSA and there’s also Hutton Honors money and departmental money - but I don’t recall many posters having success.
So IU has merit but it typically doesn’t feel big time.
That said, you might review last year’s thread. There’s also Kelly threads out there too.
We are OOO as well, and IU gave my daughter a whopping $5K. She had similar stats to your student. My daughter was admitted DA to Kelley and it was her top choice, so that’s where she currently is. She’s having a phenomenal experience, but it is an expensive option for those out of state.
