I don’t care if my kids’ rooms are messy, but they periodically clean them anyway because they know I won’t. They also do their own laundry or they don’t have clean clothes to wear, and they’ve done that for many years. I’m feeling fortunate that they do help out when asked, my son will even help out unasked. He also pays rent.
My S would just wear the dirty clothes!
One summer he worked at a chain sandwich shop that had a required polyester shirt. I don’t think he washed that shirt the entire summer. Yuck. I never ate there and it always give me a pause when I walk into a place staffed only by young males.
