I’m currently teaching English in Korea and I’m planning to apply for the Graduate schools of international studies program offered by one of the SKY schools in Korea, but I wanted to know if the classes were taught completely in English. I was also wondering how difficult it is to get accepted into the program, specifically the Master’s of International Trade, Finance, and Management or International Cooperation.
I’m not too sure about the other SKY schools, but the program at Yonsei University is taught completely in English except for the Korean langauge courses. As for how difficult it is to get in, it depends on your gpa, accomplishments, and statement of purpose. Both ITFM and International Coorperation are part of the Global studies program, so you can decide which one your prefer after studying at Yonsei for a year. Hopefully, that was helpful. If you have any more questions you can contact me through twitter @ysgsis_eng or email the GSIS office directly. I’m sure they would be happy to answer any of your questions.
Thanks! I visited Yonsei’s Sinchon campus today, and it seems nice. Can you give me some more information about how the curriculum works?
For the Yonsei GSIS program you have to take three core courses your first semester (unless you’ve taken them during undergrad) and at least four courses from a specific field of your decided major. The other courses you take are up to you. If you want, you can take Korean language classes or try some classes from International cooperation, or ITFM. You can find more information about the curriculum at: http://gsis.yonsei.ac.kr/main/text.asp?mid=n03_01
