No doubt police departments all around the country are going to be busy and challenged by extreme idiotic behavior this week. Glad I am not in the game anymore.
I generally only post the incidents where a LEO is actually injured, or killed, but there are so many more potentially deadly situations they face that, luckily, officers survive unscathed, at least physically.
This came up in my social media today. I’m posting it here because I can’t believe it took the legal system almost three months to decide this was self defense. That kept this deputy off the streets, on administrative leave, for 12 weeks. I did a quick Google search and found that the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department has only 58 sworn deputies to patrol 4,800 sq/mi(that is 3X the size of Rhode Island) and serve 47,000+ citizens 24/7/365.
Amazing job by the deputy. Sitting in your car is a lousy spot to be in while being shot upon.
Get them and lock the up for life. Seriously - it’s time to stop making excuses for thugs.
California used to have three strikes. We don’t need criminals on the street…period. I don’t care your age or upbringing.
Make these folks disappear - forever.
I believe shooting at a firefighter, paramedic/EMT, or a law enforcement officer should carry a 50 year mandatory minimum sentence. If you kill them you should get life without parole.
Not enough. You kill - why are you here?
Assuming the officer is ok, this is a big win. One less loser to terrorize people.
I’ll be interested to see what becomes of this.
