This is a follow up to my post back on October 6th. The Santa Monica Police Department released the officer’s body cam footage. Everyone should watch this. It happens very fast.
Emphasis below is mine. What the heck is “lifetime parole?” Why would the courts let this person walk the streets of a city that has over 8,000,000 potential victims?
"The suspect, Gary Worthy, 57, is on lifetime parole for firearms possession and has 17 priors that include murder, robbery, burglary and narcotics possession according to the NYPD.
His last arrest was six days ago for possession of felony narcotics and resisting arrest."
This is why police officers need to get people’s hands out from under them, and behind their backs.
“I’m not doing nothin. I’m not doing nothin. I’m not doing nothin.” BANG!
I can just see the comments sections. “Why didn’t he just taze him?” “Why didn’t he shoot him in the arm or leg?” and on and on. Reality and tv are not the same. The end goal is to get to go home at the end of the day.
“According to MSHP, the officers identified themselves to Yager and he pulled out a gun and shot at them, hitting a Ray County deputy. The officers returned fire and retreated.”
Ambushed.
R.I.P. Officer Dawson.
Criminals don’t care that it’s Thanksgiving week.
“The driver put the stolen car in reverse and then struck the police vehicle and then made a right-hand turn and struck the police officer, causing the officer to roll up onto the hood of this Honda. Then the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, struck a civilian vehicle, causing the police officer to roll off the hood and onto the street,” said Small.
“Reed made a turn at a high rate of speed, ejecting the officer from the moving vehicle, police said. Reed continued to flee at a high rate of speed.”
"When officers arrived at the home, a woman told police that her 20-year-old son, later identified as Sutherland, was being aggressive.
Sutherland then fired shots through the door and those bullets hit the officers."
“A Cincinnati Police officer has been injured after her patrol car was rear-ended along northbound I-75, near Ezzard Charles Drive, around 2 a.m., according to the Cincinnati Police Department.”
Happy Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful no officers were hurt.
“A man was injured in a shootout with Aurora police Thursday night while officers were responding to reports of shots fired in an apartment complex parking lot.”
“Sebring Police said Thanksgiving Eve, also known as ‘Blackout Wednesday,’ is one of the year’s most dangerous nights for driving.”
"Manley assaulted a female police officer, who was taken by ambulance to a hospital, police said.
Police said Manley then 'violently attacked"'a male officer who was left semiconscious on the ground. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, police said."
"According to a spokesperson for the village, firefighters responded to a call of shots fired just after 9:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Lake Street. There, they found an Oak Park officer with a gunshot wound to the left side.
The officer was transported to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition."
An update to the above story. Rest in peace Detective Reddins.
“Upon arrival to the scene, deputies said the suspect immediately began firing, injuring one deputy responding to the incident. The officer then returned fire, killing the suspect.”
One would think being a school resource officer is a fairly safe job.
“If you’re wondering why some kids show no fear of consequences in today’s society, look no further than these parents. I’m glad they’re locked up and I look forward to them being held fully accountable for this blatant attack on our deputy just doing her job,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said.
“Deputies went to the home on a report of shots fired and encountered a man, identified as 22-year-old Rodolfo Daniel Lima, armed with a handgun in the driveway, TBI said.
Investigators said authorities gave several commands for Lima to drop the gun, but he refused to comply.
TBI said the situation then escalated when Lima fired in the direction of responding officers, which resulted in at least one deputy firing his weapon, hitting and killing Lima.“
