The frustration is incredible. To keep my sanity, I’ve more or less totally backed off and figure at this point, sis can do what she wants at her own pace. The new lawyer has the copies we emailed him and agrees they are a mess. He had to finish up a large case of some sort last week and plans to start working on this now. He will have to retrieve the papers from the old lawyer since the county supposedly sent them back to her for correction. Sis hasn’t called there to see if she has them and I doubt she plans to. The lawyer hasn’t called sis either.
If “I” were in charge, we’d be doing it all ourselves from a much earlier point - like - as soon as we realized we could have gotten it done back in Sept - but I’m not in charge. When my mom passes I’m executrix. H and I will do it all ourselves. We’ve already discussed it and discussed with mom exactly what she wants to see happen. I’m fortunate that mom’s kept up on her taxes, has no liens, and isn’t anywhere near a Hoarder. Her estate should be relatively easy, esp now that I’ve learned so much about estates in general from dad’s death. H and I are jokingly betting I’ll have mom’s complete before dad’s is and mom isn’t even dead yet.
