<p>I’m going to be President of the Spanish Club next year and i didnt have much leadership before in high school stuff…even though i have a whole buch of EC’s will this help a lot?</p>

<p>Any leadership position helps. It especially helps if you accomplish something with your leadership.</p>
<p>What do you plan to accomplish as president. If by Dec., you have done something like: started a school-wide Cinco de Mayo celebration; instituted a program to help Hispanic migrant laborers; instituted a program to teach younger kids Spanish or if you have organized some other activity that demonstrates your leadership, that would impress colleges. For the colleges to know, you probably would need to include the info in your essay or have your advisor include the information in your recc.</p>
