Idk because my first and last name start with the same letter, but I would assume last. If you’re emailing to ask about getting more money but don’t have significant changes from 2022, don’t bother.
I got a response of
“As of right now, I don’t anticipate we would be to make any adjustments to your financial aid offer based on the information in the email and application.”
Was merit in the acceptance letter or am I supposed to look elsewhere? Not sure if she would get any, but they did give her $1000 to attend Lehigh fest which is nice.
I would 100% say my child was WL (and offered the Verto program) for yield protection. She got into Pomona, Amherst, WashU, Tufts, and several other colleges that are far more selective than Lehigh. Lehigh was the least selective private school she applied to. I’m sure it’s because they didn’t think they can yield her. Her demonstrated interested was minimal (just did an online info session ), and we do not live anywhere nearby (2 day drive), and I’ve never heard of anyone in my area going to Lehigh. I don’t really care though, but I’m sure Lehigh does yield protect certain students. Kids with similar stats were offered top merit scholarships.
Well, agree to disagree. They do look at demonstrated interest, so if it was just a random application without that, that may also be why there was a WL. But Lehigh’s selectivity is certainly increasing, and I don’t believe it to be an inferior school to any of the ones where your daughter was accepted.
Oh yes, today S24 was also notified that they are giving him money to go visit Lehigh… again. I guess they are trying to get him to accept the admission decision.
We will visit since we will be in east coast for another visit. Love Lehigh, but it’s the only school where she would need to pay full fare and not sure we love it $100k plus more than other options.
Does anyone know when Lehigh will start accepting people from the waitlist. I know the odds are long but we are planning final trips to my daughters accepted schools. She very interested in Lehigh but likely to pick another if nothing changes soon. Just don’t know what is reasonable time expectation.
Most schools do not go to waitlist until the deadline for accepted students to respond has passed. Usually May 1 but might be different this year with FAFSA delays.
When do admitted students have to commit and pay deposit for Lehigh this year? Having trouble finding that and curious to see when they would first start going to the waitlist
They currently have their enrollment deadline set as May 1st. I’d assume that most waitlist decisions will come out by around May 15th, depending on how the yield turns out.
DD24 will not be attending- received financials in mail today that states family’s resources are sufficient to meet cost of attendance (79,000)
Not sure whose finances they were looking at to make that decision it certainly wasn’t mine
My son is on the waitlist as well. He’s been excepted to Denison deposit is due on May 1 for Denison. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see and perhaps lose a deposit.
We are here at Lehigh fest. The admissions department gave us their numbers for this year. Record number of applications -It was over 20,000 (I believe in the 20,300s). It was 11% higher than last year, and they accepted 25%.
