This is the official discussion thread for Lehigh University Class of 2030 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
Did everyone else get the “switch to ED2” email?
Yes. What was that about?
Either a mass email to everyone who applied, OR a play at getting merit-eligible candidates for less money by having them switch to a binding plan?
Every school with ED2 does this. Any school my kids applied to RD who have ED2 sent these kinds of emails in bulk. I am on my 3rd kid going through college applications and I have seen this every time.
Boy/Girl Twins both received the same letter, encouraging to switch to ED2
We were very excited until we read this. ![]()
Congrats to those that gained/will gain acceptance!!
RD results are out! How did you all fare?
Waitlist / Verto offer.
D26 waitlisted but offered Verto program
DD accepted with $20,000. She was waitlisted at syracuse with Verto offer. What a wild ride!
Lehigh RD Class of 2030 Results Survey:
This form is for tracking decision results, so it’s all centralized for future students. If you could fill this out once you get your decision, that would be very appreciated!
You can see all other people’s individual responses in the links above, along with overall form statistics (such as what percent got accepted).
My son was accepted with $20k a year merit.
Congrats. Same here for my twins (20k / yr).
Accepted but no merit. So no go.
Waitlisted. She is legacy with ridiculously good stats - 1540 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA, varsity and club athlete, cancer research and published paper for the last 3 years, all 5s on AP exams. We are flabbergasted. She will send a LOCI but has mentally moved on. Just very disappointed as this was a top choice for her.
Just curious if your daughter considered ED and if not why? Lehigh skews heavily toward ED for admissions. We were in a similar boat with it being the top choice. Not wanting to risk being rejected so we went ED and were admitted. RD would have been a 50/50 based on the SCOIR scattergram.
what major? business and engineering are harder I believe.
I think what people forget is the CDS. Every school lists specifically what is important and what isn’t.
Many immediately post scores and GPA. While GPA and rigor are the most important there are a slew of things that are equally important to test scores. Most on here are parents and our application process was vastly different. It was all tests and GPA but it’s not the same today. A good college counselor will shape an application to each individual school for best success based on the CDS. Since each school values different qualities.
Lehigh lists recommendations, essays, and rank academically the same as test scores. Then a bunch of non-academic things that are equally important to those 4 things. So a student might get a 1600 on their test but write a terrible essay(s) it cancels out the 1600 since they are equally important. A university AO just told me last week they toss more quality candidates for AI usage than anything else. The Lehigh zoom info session last summer stated the same thing.
Can anyone comment on the IBE program? I didn’t even realize my son applied for it. Looks interesting.
