For Yocco2, I was accepted off the waitlist and I’m full-pay.
Thanks @pandagirl567
Was anyone accepted off the waitlist that received a meaningful FA award? We need aid, and I’m trying to figure out if D will ever get offered a spot since waitlist is need-aware.
Do people think they are releasing more decisions tomorrow?
@Jimmobrien11 I guess not…
For those accepted off the waitlist, did you recieve acceptance materials through the mail?
No. It has been 2 weeks and nothing has come in the mail. Just an email notification and then it showed up in the portal.
Anyone expecting anything today?
I was just admitted off the waitlist today
Hi, did you receive any financial aid?
Hi, did you receive any financial aid?
How were you informed, or did you just check your portal?
No but I didn’t apply for it
I an email
I see, also did you write a loci? Thanks!
Son just got admitted off the WL today as well!
Yes I wrote them a letter
Since Lehigh’s waitlist is need-aware, one can assume anyone that is offered a spot through the end of April will not require (or be offered) significant financial aid. After Lehigh knows their actual commitment numbers on May 1, they will know how much aid was left unclaimed and can begin offering spots again to those who demonstrate need. Unfortunately too late for many who will need to commit elsewhere by then.
The only good news (or bad, if you wonder why it is so), is Lehigh’s applications were way down this year (by 21% - 12,400 vs. 15,649 - see recent article in Lehigh’s Brown & White school newspaper - the comments are very interesting), and I understand from a previous article that they will be utilizing their waitlist rather than extending the commitment date to June like some other schools.
Wow that is great to hear and I really hope that is the case. Thank you for putting that in here. Do you by any chance have a link to the article about using waitlist other than extending commitment day.
@Pringle54 The article is “Coronavirus impacts college admissions, schools work to accommodate accepted students” published in the B&W on 3/29/20.
The last three paragraphs address the commitment date and waitlist.
My son got in off of the waitlist on the 17th. We did not ask for financial aid. He has committed elsewhere. We would love to get him to go to Lehigh since it is so much closer and a great school but he doesn’t want to go.
