Lehigh Waitlist 2024

@Pringle54 Check your email/portal to recommit by Sunday, 7/5 if you haven’t already!

Text of email received last evening, 7/1/20:

Thank you for your continued interest in Lehigh University and your patience while we continue to assess the possibility of making additional offers of admission for the fall semester. We have offered admission to a number of students from the waitlist and plan to make additional offers for the fall semester.

If you wish to continue to be considered for admission, you must submit the Waitlist Recommitment Form available in your Applicant Portal. Only students who respond on or before 11:59 PM EDT Sunday, July 5, 2020 will be considered.

Financial aid will be available for admitted students.

Students selected for admission will be contacted either by email or phone. Please contact our office at 610-758-3100 or admissions@lehigh.edu with any additional questions.

Best regards,

Bruce Bunnick
Director of Admissions

Hey Yocco2, Thank you for the responses. It really means a lot. I did receive that email a few days back and I was sure to indicate that I was still interested. This is really giving me hope that I hear some good news. I also wish your daughter the best of luck. I did end up committing to a school that I love back in April, but I love Lehigh just as much and my parent would prefer that I go to Lehigh just because it is a better location. However, I am still extremely happy even if I don’t t get into Lehigh.
Thanks again

I’m pretty much in the same situation as Pringle54. And I was reading the situation from the day they announced that I was waitlisted. The application portal stated that the emails and phone calls to those who will be removed from the waitlist will begin the 7th. It is now 3 days past the 7th. Just out of curiosity, has anyone received any phone calls or emails?

Hey toxhu009, thanks for reaching out. Its cool to know that I am not alone. I have also not heard anything.

Thank you for the reply @Pringle54 ! I just received an email about an update in my application portal. I was taken off the waitlist! I never thought that this would happen. I will have to consult with my parents about the financial aid. I’ve taken a look at it myself and I don’t think that it’s that bad. I wish you the best of luck! If my parents agree to me going there and if you get accepted then I will have one more acquaintance!

Hello,

I was waitlisted at Lehigh University on March 24th. I then got an email on the 31st of May asking if I was still interested. I have not heard anything since then. Lehigh has been my top choice for a while now and I sent them a letter of continued interested back when I originally got waitlisted. I have not heard of anyone getting in since that email on May 31st. I am curious if anyone has. I am trying to stay hopeful, but with July round the corner it is hard.

Hey toxhi009, congratulations. One of my friends got of the waitlist yesterday too. Unfortunately I did not receive an email, but I am hoping that this is still not the end for me and Lehigh. Please let me know what you decide as I am genuinely curious.

I got off the waitlist yesterday and committed the same day to Lehigh.

Hello! It’s been a while! I did decide to commit to Lehigh although it was a bit pricey for me and my family, @Pringle54 ! Thank you for everything! I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Wherever you go, it’s you that makes the difference not your school. When I visited Lehigh, I really fell for the atmosphere. It’s not for everyone but hopefully it fits me. Thank you again! I hope you stay in touch! If you have an Instagram, mine is @ / tram019. Feel free to follow me and talk to me about your college days! I would love for some advice and if you want I can also give advice if you’re okay with me!

Congrats to those who have been taken off waitlist! D still has heard nothing, but it’s not the end of the world. She’s very happy with her first choice.

Good point @Yocco2 I a very happy with where I am going. And yes congrats to those who were admitted. Also do you think there is any chance of some more people coming off the waitlisted in the next few days. Because not everyone who was offered acceptance on friday took it?

@Pringle54 I believe they will continue to take people off the waitlist until their class is full, which could even go into the first weeks of school once they know how many actually show. They need to wait for the latest offers to accept or deny, and will also no doubt be dealing with “summer melt”, where some who previously committed change their minds and go elsewhere, which will probably be more this year than any other given all the uncertainty surrounding Covid. Keep in mind the longer the process draws out, the less interested many on the waitlist become since they are happy with the school they have already committed to, and/or are feeling resentment that Lehigh waited so long to take them off the list.

Regardless, if you are fortunate enough to be offered admission, you could have a very difficult decision to make. If not, it was never meant to be and you should never look back since it wasn’t an option anyway.

@toxhi009 Hey congrats! If you don’t mind, can I ask if you received any financial aid from Lehigh?

@xoya557 Hello! I’m sorry for the late reply! I am still working the ropes of financial aid myself. And if they have made one thing clear to me it is that they want the students with financial aid to pay out of pocket costs in stable accordance with their EFC number that is calculated with the CSS profile and the FAFSA. I think they are generally reasonable because I literally have no idea about my family’s financial state since my father will tell me nothing. However he has compromised a price with me and I agreed that I would have to pay the rest somehow. So I think it’s reasonable, depending on your family’s financial situation. But like everyone else I wish that they could do better. I still am learning and need to confirm a whole bunch of things so this is all the information I can give you. I hope you found it helpful ^^

My answer is quite lengthy for your yes/no question. I’m sorry lol. Yes I did receive aid.

D was released from waitlist yesterday, not offered admission (I guess either their class is full or they are eliminating those with zero chance of being accepted from list). Oh well… Syracuse here she comes (which was pretty much a given at this point anyway, and she couldn’t be more excited)! Best of luck to everyone no matter where life leads you!
