Let's name the royal baby!

Did William drive them away? I couldn’t see that from work.

I think it’s lovely. A healthy, loved baby is a great blessing.

Yes, Catherine and the baby in the back, William at the wheel and presumably security to his left.

Yes, William carried the baby out In his car seat and put the car seat in the back of the car himself. William then drove himself with Kate in the back with the baby. They were radiant. I had tears in my eyes!

Was he driving that neat car of his Dad?

It looks like a Range Rover? They’re “working on a name” and should have it soon.

We noticed how adeptly William got the baby seat into the car. He must have practiced as most fist time parents struggle a bit with the angle and getting it to latch in the base. Yes zoos, he drove the car leaving the hospital. I thought he was getting in the passenger seat until it dawned on me it’s reversed there as they drive on the left.

Note: crossed posts with the last FOUR, lol! I’m so slow. I’m blaming my iPhone (this time). :o

A car nut friend of mine sent me a link to William driving Kate in his Dad’s car after the wedding. I guess the couple feels that doing these things that a non-royal would do like driving oneself is appropriate.

Or like a Kennedy naming a child Lee or Sirhan.

Mathmom, have you ever read The Stranger Prince? (need I ask… )

I just looked up Edward’s names: Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David.

Can you imagine what a monogrammed shirt would look like?

I’m glad they can do things like drive themselves. I just thought today’s trip might require extra security. Perhaps there were security cars ahead and behind.

I’m sure there was security around them. William is determined to keep their lives as normal as possible for as long as possible, and for most new dads that means driving the bundle of joy home. And mom sitting in the backseat, as I’m sure many of us did!

How about “Prince Rogers Nelson” (the birth name of the artist formerly known as Prince)?

And doesn’t William have his own car?!

He’s supposed to have an Audi S4

I like the name Adrien William

“…Form of Hadrianus (see HADRIAN). Several saints and six popes have borne this name, including the only English pope, Adrian IV, and the only Dutch pope, Adrian VI. As an English name, it has been in use since the Middle Ages, though it was not popular until modern times.”

"He’s supposed to have an Audi S4 "
-Glad to hear that (if it is true). This is my favorite car.

For years after we bought our house (which was over 20 years ago), we used to get mail addressed to:

Prince Lewis
[our street address] rear
city, state.

We checked the backyard, but we never did figure out where Prince Lewis lived.

So I vote for “Lewis.”

[Behind the Name: Most Popular Names for Births in England and Wales 2011](Popular Names in England and Wales 2011 - Behind the Name)

top names in Britain in 2011: Harry, Oliver, Jack, Alfie, Charlie, Thomas, Jacob, James, Joshua, William, Ethan, George

He will obviously be named John Paul George Ringo.

The video at the hospital door is totally charming! Yes, radiant. And, gracious.

I’ve heard he just enjoys driving. He is, after all, a pilot professionally. I assume the guy in the front seat was security. If William didn’t drive himself, there would be one more person in the car, as they would need a driver and security.

What actually made me smile though was that she had a hairdresser come to the hospital. Hey, I don’t blame her :)! “Bed head” doesn’t begin to describe what my own hair looked like after labor. But the hairdresser’s assistant was the one who carried in the car seat. I’m sure that’s a story she will tell her future children and grandchildren :)!
