Let's name the royal baby!

Consolation you are my twin! Prince Rupert was on my high school yearbook page!

William and Kate have a talent for breaking molds without seeming rebellious. So how about a name that isn’t a traditional royal name (at least not in recent centuries), but is still definitely a classic? Michael? David?

Okay, oops I take back Oliver :p…Rupert is interesting.

It’s not as if Arthur hasn’t continued to be used as a name in the royal family since then. Queen Victoria’s third son (after Edward [the future Edward VII] and Alfred) was named Arthur; he was around until the Second World War. And Arthur is one of Prince Charles’s middle names.

I like someone’s suggestion of Benjamin. “King Bennie the First” has a certain ring to it.

William’s second name is Arthur, as well.

Speaking of bad luck, David was the name by which Edward VIII, a/k/a the Duke of Windsor, was known before he became king. So it seems unlikely that they would choose that, especially given the Queen’s known antipathy towards her late uncle. In the same way that they would never name a royal daughter “Wallis”!

Throw in Elton since he was a very good friend to the baby’s grandmother when she needed one.

Eadwig.

He was quite a handsome lad: [File:Eadwig.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:Eadwig.jpg - Wikipedia)

Oh right, I’d forgotten that Edward was David before he was Edward. That definitely ain’t happening.

Eadwig Bluetooth. I’m sure the Queen would be overjoyed!!!

What about Daniel?

James Phillip William

Haha, love Eadwig. Think that’s an older version of Edward?

I find it interesting that so few of the royal names have been biblical in origin.

I’m betting on Arthur or George.

I think the baby’s coming out soon. On CNN.

It’s on the BBC live. The baby is coming out any second now.

Out of hospital I mean.

So cute! The baby waved too, and William said he has more hair than I do.

Very sweet. Shocked that William drove them out himself.

How sweet!
