I posted this is in the bragging thread but I wanted to pull it out here as so many of you have been so, so supportive of me over the last several years.
I received word this morning that I was accepted into the American Studies PhD program at the University of Michigan. I will almost certainly be attending in the fall. I have a full funding package for 5 years.
My area of study is on the intersection of medicine and sex(uality) in the early 20th century, specifically as it relates to the Eugenics movement in California.
I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am. I was the first to go to college in my family and now this. My mom burst into tears when I told her and my dad started telling random strangers around him (I had to tell him over the phone while he was out).
Congratulations @romanigypsyeyes !! You don’t know me really well (that much at all actually), but you are one of the coolest on CC. Anyway, congrats again!
Congratulations, romani! You must be so thrilled, and relieved! Nice to know what you’ll be doing for the next 5 or so years, isn’t it? I think you’ll do great. Again, congrats.
